| Morgan Fuelvetrider,
Nobody is questioning the quality of Morgan fuels. It was pointed out that Wildcat also makes a good 30% fuel as well. What was being questioned however was their business practice of taking identical fuel, putting a "heli" sticker on one of them, and then charging a buck more for it. That's right, CP15 airplane and CP15 heli are the same fuel except the heli cost $1 more. That borders on, if not actually is, consumer fraud.
Is Steve Morgan a nice guy? Sure, I've dealt with him on a couple of occassions and he was great. He took the time to try and work through a problem I was having and I appreciate his effort. But does that change any of the above? I don't think so and that is what was at issue over Morgan Fuels.
Mitch is pitching the support you LHS which is fine, but I'm not going to fork over hard earned money so some distributor can pork me. Why should I pay $130 + tax for SAB 680 blades from an LHS when I can buy them for $79 + $15 s&h elsewhere in the world. And that's on one set of blades at a time. Obviously shipping cost per set goes down with multiple sets ordered at once. So I save $36 minimum on each set of blades. Depending on what you're buying that can add up fast.
Why can a hobby shop in Hawaii be able to under sell all other hobby shops in the continental U.S.? Because the distributor into the continental U.S., and/or the LHS is being greedy that's why. Everybody knows there is a hellatious markup on hobby products. The foriegn dealers are willing to take less markup in favor of more volume. Until our distributors do the same they will continue to lose business. The guy that pays in the end is the LHS owner because they're slave to their distributors pricing and therefore can't compete and are the first to feel it.
