| True, but thieves, in general, do not hit the same place more than once. My appartment was burglarized 4 weeks ago, everything was stolen, and I didn't have renter's insurance. They usually work in groups, hit several places simultaneously, and never come back. So as far as counting on them to return, it's a lost cause. They know that if they return, someone will be waiting for them.
It does hit you below the waist whenever one of your heli-guys gets ripped off like that. We all should watch out for each other's helis and go after the crooks whenever there is such opportunity.

This evidence will certainly qualify for a search warrant. If the downlink had sound and you leave the receive end TV on high volume you may hear it come on while you are at home. Timing their activity before they get rid of it may be a challenge, but I think you have a somewhat solvable case due to a local suspect pool, and the fact that this item is unique.
