If you are going to spend that much money on a kit, why not just go for a 91?

Maybe send Augusto ? a PM.

I would imagine that if the engine can be moved on the engine mount bolts (moved engine foward or back to get the right mesh) then it would be just a case of buying the right gearing ???

I was just trying to suggest getting a 91 for the extra power now and just tone down the throttle curve if it is to much. I was not trying to butcher the post, but if you want to take it like that then why even ask questions on here. I answered your question with a question to provoke thought and did not at all attempt to anger you. No need to bash and attack my character.

I work in IT and have computer access at work or home. And yes I have a very good life.

FWIW

Using Freya mechanics, you can bolt the engine without shims from a 61 to a 91, the only thing that changes is the gear ratio for the most part.

I don't know much about the Avant, but I don't see any reason why you couldn't, just change back to the 10T pinion/bell and 93T main gear and you should be all set.

I think it would fly pretty nicely on a YS61. You would probably get some good run times out of it as well.

No problem. I just read your first question and YS61 + Avant does not equal a "monster" in my mind. I was not sure if you already had the YS 61 or was thinking about buying one for it. Therefor I answered with a question that implied just get a 91. I made the mistake of putting a 70 in my Freya and a week later bought a 91. Hopefully that clarifies it a bit more. I like to make my replies short and to the point since I hate typing out paragraphs.

Well I have a Raptor with a O.s. 91 in it and an Evo 50, I have a Freya that has less than 3 tanks in the Y.s 61 in it and received my Avant kit about 3 weeks ago!Have yet to put it together but wanted to know if I could use the Ys61 or needed to sell it!When I said Monster-I meant pilots that know alot more about the hobby than myself as far as mechanics go!

I agree with Tek, whislt the 61 might fit, the AVANT is designed for a 91. You would be happier in the long run with a 91 methinks.

I think the 60 will fly fine in the Avant. It is light and nimble, a good 60 will get this around just fine. The stock Freya gears will work, 660 or 680 blades. Why not? It would make a nice heli.

Wow,wow, wow! Guys you are making me sick

OF COURSE YS61 will fit Avant, all dimensions of YS61 is the same as YS91! The only thing what should be changed are the gears.
I bet it should be fine with 95/12 combo.

I have a 60 in a Fury Extreme (690mm blades) and I get 15min flight times and damn good performance since the weight is low.
I'm about to start the Avant upgrade on my Frey YS91 soon. The 60 idea is tempting on it also as the light weight makes the 60's perform much better than the heli's of the past with the longer run times as a benifit.
I'd go with 680's on the 61 and freya head.

BTW the YS61's like the 10/93 ratio better and the OS the 10/95.

Stock 60 Freya comes with 10/95 I've just mixed it with Freya 90 which comes with 12/95
So 10/95 should be fine for Avant60 then...

I would imagine a 61 size engine would do just fine in the Avant. After all, most 60 size or 90 sized machine could be setup either way but the lightweight and the powerful pitch response of the Avant would also make it better in the 60 sized machines.

Hi,

I am building my Avant, will it be enough if I use Futaba 9252 servos instead of 9255 for CCPM ?
