What is the best electric for the money? One with a lot of power...?

I could be biased here, but...

I think that either the LOGO 10 or LOGO 20 are good choices. Because of the smaller battery pack, I recommend the LOGO 10 for the first time electric flier. It really performs well for a heli its size.

Cheers!

Hello

I just recieved my Logo 20(baught it used with Hitec 6525 digitals on the cyclic, MS carbon 600s, and carbon fins). All I can say is the Logo 20 looks to be a bad ass helicopter. The reason I say that is I have yet to fly it, because the motor(Hacker B50-20XL) is still in some Fedex truck. Just so you know, I'm also using a GY401/9253 on the tail and a Schulze 35Ho motor controller. The best part is I only payed $750 for everything; I just had to look for on line deals. Oh, I will be flying using 20 cells.

I also have an Eco 8 that is fully tricked out. I have a Hacker B50-11L(16 tooth pinion) powered my a Kontronik 3SL-40-6-18. This helicopter has mad power. I consider this heli my hot rod. This helicopter only need 10 cells.

Carlo
PS: The best electric for the money has got to be the Logo 20, no upgrades needed at all. Has the aluminum swash, boom supports, and thrust bearings.

Hi Carlo,

The "USA version" of the LOGO 10 sold by RC-Direct now comes with blades, auto-hub, and free thrust bearings.

Cheers!

60 size with pretty amazing power...

Not cheap, but very precision machine that flies pretty flawlessly...

Hello Glen

That is really nice to know.

By anychance, could you put a Logo 16 boom, and belt on the Logo 10? Then make a 16 cell pack and get a motor worthy of 16 cells and I think you will have a hot rod Logo 10. Oh up the blade size to 550s.

Hmmmm

Hi Tim,

He also said "for the money"

Although not in the same class as the LOGO 20 and certainly the Joker, the LOGO 10 really moves out for a heli its size (and price).

If we were to discuss how many car sized deep cycle batteries one needs to tote for, say 8 - 10 flights in a day (let's not think of a fun fly camping weekend), the smaller heli gets points for being "handy".

Cheers!

Yes

Apparently a Tango 45-10 on 14 cells isn't too shaby either. You could leave the stock tail on and go for 515's or 535's too.

Cheers!

ps, when you get both a "10" and a "20" you will have lots of common spare parts, which is pretty nice

Cheers!

The Logo 10 is the best value on the market today but for performance the Logo 20 is great. The 10 will do allot but not as powerful as the 20.. Check out my site for some more info..

The Jocker as well as the Logo 30 are 60 sized machines.
That size doesn't fit well with the current technology's battery/Motor power to weight ratio. That's why the Jocker and the Logo 30 have such a short flight time when flying hard 3D. The best combination of power to weight and flight duration ratio is the Logo 20.

In my opinion, the electric heli that best fits the description of "powerful" and comes closest to the criteria of "can't go wrong" is the Logo 20. Love mine.

I have a Shuttle ZXX and by way of comparison, the Logo 20 is bigger, more precise and significantly higher quality.

LOGO 20 The best

Ive flown a bunch of electrics at our field, and when it comes to power to weight ratio, the logo 20 has it hands down. This heli is capable of everthing. At the 2002 Nationals I was going to fly it in class III for the last two rounds. If your going to get into 3D flying with an electric, the 20 is the way to go. The 10 will also do the same but a little more stick finess is needed.

"What is the flight time of the LOGO 20?

Mike @
Moore Scale Model Helicopters"
Depends on the setup. I get about 6 minutes of aggressive FFF followed by about half a minute of hovering. Then I throw in another pack and fly again.

I would imagine the flight time would be about a minute less for heavy 3D stuff at 1800+ RPM but over 10 minutes for low-RPM slow forward flight.

Head speed

I run the speed control in gov. mode. Head speed around 1750. Flight on 2400CP batteries 7 min hard 3D. On 3000 stock metals 9 min of 3D.

One of my favorite helicopters to fly is my VARIO Silence It flys for 8 minutes of mild 3D and/or FFF. Not too bad for a .60 size CCPM heli that weighs in at 10.5lbs RTF. It runs on a Kontronics 3SL-25-14-32 brushless motor and 30 sub C's and swings symm 660's no problem. GY502/9253 and four 9202's are plugged into a Futaba R127-DP FM receiver. I did find it necessary to upgrade the head by installing a flybar. Although this added some substantial weight to the heli, it makes it much more user friendly to fly. A little sluggish past 10* collective but otherwise flys pretty much like .60 glo. The two 15 cell, 18 volt - 2000mAh Nicad's account for 4 lbs of the helicopters weight, hence the 8 minute flight time. We have had reports of obtaining 14 - 16 minutes of flying time by using custom made battery packs. Less servos, gyro and Rx the kit runs about $1,150 including Fiberglass main blades, the two battery packs, motor & speed controller. Another $150 or so to upgrade the head to a #1005/50 flybar head and oh yah a 49/15 claw coupler upgrade for the output shaft on the transmission about another $30 or so. It's starting to look like I got about $1,800 or so into this thing including radio equipment and upgrades.

I ended up with a kick a** German made .60 size Carbon Fibre CCPM heli that has lots of power and has all quality built cnc machined parts throughout. A little spendy, but well worth it in the end.

Well geez, if your gonna spend 1800$ might as well go up to the Joker Electric. It's a 60 size electric thats got 2 HP and runs on 30 cells. Don't know what the flight times are though. I would get a different motor if you wanted lots of power.
With the motor and ESC, plus the helicopter (which needs no upgrades- beatuiful construction) is 1200$ if you want the CX version, (carbon this and that) 1300$. Gy502 w/9253 280$. 9252 servos, 77$ each (x 3) and a spare servo for the throttle, and then 100$ or so for any reciever ya want. Were talking $1810. For a 60 size, powerhouse with CCPM. Look it up on the internet.

Saw the joker at a local fun fly. He gets only 4 min. of 3D flight. And on top of that its set up to use only the actro motors. Bummer!!!!
