For comparison i use the 4 second test, that makes the low end just a bit rich, it solves alot of problems later if everything is just a bit rich.
Pinch it, then count 1 mississippi, slowly, but with no dead time inbetween. Somewhere in 2 mississippi, it should lean out/rev up. And at 4 mississippi it should die. If it takes longer its overly rich and it if takes shorter, then its lean. Its not an exact science, so use your judgement.
