Don't worry, my panties did get to high up there. And, I agree that the Falcon tail is not some bust in the design. My bone of contention is that this is a sport pod-and-boom ship designed for aerobatics and is certainly 3D capable. It is even marketed that way. The tail pitch is not symetrical which leaves the user with a potential issue to sort out if they wish to push the heli in 3D. Also, I did mention in my topic in this sub-forum regarding the tail modification that it is not for everyone and to build the kit stock and take it from there. I try to give everything a fair shake and get a feel for what the manuf is trying to achieve with their stock configurations. You do actually have a good point there. I guess I took it personal and shouldn't have. I have a pretty good grasp on the GY 401 now and thought you were degrading my setup skills when I should have been reading your post in a more general sense.
Also, I couldn't agree more. And I hope that the newcomers are listening to you. Just because I or somebody else says a set of blades, paddles, tail component change, etc makes their machine scream doesn't mean that they are necessarily required to get it. I know I have fallen prey to upgrade-itis in the past. I would agree it is best to stay with the fuel burning upgrade recommendation and encourage those in the early stages to stay with the basics. I just wanted to share my experiences for those in the 3D crowd that are overlooking the Falcon SE II.
I forgot to dig into the issue of mixing ratios. Unfortunately I have not developed enough understanding of them and how to derive the ratio itself. Could you expand a little on this. Maybe in a new topic here in the Century sub-forum.
As far as the pics please do share them. That is what these boards are all about. Sharing experiences both good and bad. I can promise you that if it weren't for RunRyder and a few other online boards I would not have advanced as far as I have in such a short period of time. |
