I have a Quick 30 Carbon. I must be the luckiest guy in the world. I have had very good luck with the heli and Irwin but, it is a little heavy. Put a Tuned pipe on and it is very nice, it rolls very good for it having such a high profile. I like it alot, but there are better choices.

"Hey rayysman where do you fly? I have never seen the Quick 30 fly and would like to see what all this jazz is about. Are you going to the Las Vegas funfly? Maybe you can show us what the Quick can do."

After DavidH's reply.. you'd better bring your flack vests and helmets to the Las Vegas funfly!! Never know if it's going to self distruct.. must be the fail safe mode?? just kiddin'

Well Well Well

I would just like to put my two cents in about the quick pro 30.

I own a Quick pro 30, Shuttle 30 Raptor 30 and i also do a lot of setups and test flights at our field. I have flown just about every 30 size machine on the market. Out of all the machines straight out of the box the quick without a doubt flies the BEST. It is one of the most stable helis i have had the pleasure of flying. The other good thing is that no upgrades have to be done. No more metal parts to buy because they are all on it. As i said it is very stable in the hover and lets just say that its forward flight and 3d ability are also up there with the best. It is not all that heavy as stated in previous post and yes i will say that it has to be set up correctly to fly nice. I would definatly recogmend the quick 30 to anyone wishing to buy the 30 size ship. I also have seen and inspected the 50 size quick. It has all the best fetures that you will find on any machine and not just that again it needs no upgrades. I am currently waiting on my kit to arrive and i will post some picture while building and show you the quality of the quick.

Back to the 30 and i have just an os 32sxh with a gy502/9253 and the rest is filled with futaba 3001's. They provide more than enough athority with this heli and as i said it fly great.
For any more info please message me and i will be happy to answer your questions.

Hope this helps.

Quick Heli's

You know all of you guys always talk about HHI and how bad they are. I have done business with them and have always had great service from them. But you don't have to buy from them. Heliproz sells them also www.chucksrc.com sells them. Chucks RC also sells parts for them at a 15% discount of what you can buy through HHI.
I fly the Quick 30 Learner and I love it. It is real smooth like the other posts say. I think they are a good quality heli.

Quick Helicopters

I work here at HHI and have so for 5+ years now. I was here before the first Q30Pro came out and have been here ever since. I know that Irwin can be difficult to deal with for some, so talk to me. I am more than happy to talk you through the radio setup, mechanical issues, etc.

I would like to make a quick comment on the weight of the Quick 30s. If you have any problem with the power on the 30s, put a 46 in it. I've flown my 30 Pro for 2 years now with the 46, and it has plenty of power. We offer the motor mount upgrade. Put some 580's on, and you're ready to rip.

Sincerely,
Jon Yuhas

I'm thinking of getting the learner 30, but don't want a marginal helicopter. Do you recommend the 46 instead? Since this will be my first heli, and I'm a beginner, will it be harder to learn with the extra power of a 46, or doesn't it matter?

Jon has been EXTREMELY helpful with me when I bought my 1st machine which was a Quick 30pro EMS (metal) ....and i had to call him on a daily basis until I met Volkul here in germany.. Distance can be an issue with highly technical stuff .. But, welcome to RR Jon.....

Is there any heli worse than the Quick Heli if you have to deal with HHI?

Welcome To you to Jon

About the 46 in a 30. No There will be no extra problem learning to fly with this combination. You also then after learning have the perfect 3d machine with lots of horse power. The quick 50 would also be another great heli to learn on. As we all now the bigger they are the smother and nicer they fly. The 50 will provide the agility of a 30 but with the stability and flying characterists of the 60.

Up to you either way it will be great.

Hope this helps

Quick 46

I feel that for the added cost of getting the 46 and putting it in is well worth it. As previously stated the helicopter will be great for regular flying, and then when you head to aerobatics, you still have plenty of power. The only downside is fuel economy. With the 46 you get around 10-12min flights, when I had the 32 in I got around 13-15mins. So it is up to you what to do, but I like the 46.

Sincerely,
Jon Yuhas

Quick 30 Pro

For a beginner get the Quick 30 Learner since the parts will be cheaper to replace in a crash. The main difference from the Learner and Pro is metal frames and metal blade grips. Also learning with a CCPM heli is al ot better since the inputs are more precise.

I just got my Quick 30 Pro and it flies very smooth compared to any of my previous heli's ( Raptor, Nexus, Shuttle, Venture) The best thing about it is that you do not need upgrade no matter which model you buy. It looks awesome and flys smooth.

As for being heavy, it is not as light as a basic Shuttle or Raptor. But compared to my Venture 30 CCPM, the Venture (7lbs) was all plastic and it weighed about the same as my all metal Quick. The Ventures weight is due to the thick frames on it and the Quick is due to all the INCLUDED nice parts that most helis would have to add for a few hundred dollars. If the heli feels sluggish on climb out just increse your 4th throttle curve to 80-90% and it will be smoother.

This one is turning out to be one of my favorites, that is until I get a Vigor CS.

The Quick heli is very solid heli that already comes with most every upgrade needed right out of the box. I had two, I sold one to TechnikVR blue with flames unflown.
The second I have flew is a very good flyig heli in terms of stability and flies fairly similar to a much more expensive heli..Good quality heli..with an OS 32 or drop a TT 39 for more power. Quick makes a kit to upgrade to a 46 as well.
The Quick Learner has the G-10 frames. You would not really have to have digital servos, even though reccomended. No need to upgrade anything with the exception of the Learner 30 of thrust bearings. Plus if you outgrow the OS 30 go to a TT39 or even better a 46.

I gotta Acrostar 60 - which is the same as the Quick 60 heli, and a Vigor CS. I can tell you that both both are great to fly, but have different characteristics. The AS/Quick is heavier, less agile but runs like its on rails. You have to be careful with vibrations since the damn things so stiff and some parts can crack (boom stays etc) or come loose (I lost 3 out of 4 bolts holding on the tail after 2 flights

The Vigor CS is a whole different ball game, but it cost twice as much.

I'm kinda going off metal framed helis, much as I like the AS, as in a crash parts bend. With plastic or c/f, they either break or they don't.

I have been away from this site for quite awhile, baby, job, etc, etc, ect. all the bad excuses, BUT I have had a Quick Pro 30 for a few years, I got a greaat deal on a in box kit at the last Hebron fly. I did have a bad auto rotation hub, but a new one was on my door step before I could remove the old one. Pretty good customer service if you ask me. The heli is super smooth, I pegged an Xcell tach during setup and it was as smooth as glass, Went a little too far the otherway and it was mushy, but when I got the curves setup correctly it is a super smooth and easy to control heli. Ignore all the Irwin bashing, yes he is a business man, you have to deal with him as such, treat him with repect and you will get the same. Kick and spit on him and what should you expect? just my observations.
Tom,
PS. alot of folks hide behind some cool handle, but I am not afraid to post my name.
