Hi, I have some pics of my buddies gas powered vigor. He is a machinist and spent alot of time redesigning the whole heli to accomidate a G-23.

Thanks,

That's the G230 isn't it? Not the normal G23. If that's the G230 tell your mate to start rigging up a jig for all those parts cause he's onto an earner there!

engine

I'm not sure which exact part number he ordered when he purchased the Zenoah engine. It came with the massive cooling fan and totally sealed cooling shroud. It blows so much air!

We were wondering why Miniature Aircraft and others are not using the engine as stock.

frames

Yes, the whole thing is custom built. Frames, pulley's, bearing blocks, etc. He used the stock control system and rotor head, and also everything from the tail boom back is stock except for the upgraded pitch slider.

Raj that thing looks sweet. Almost makes me want to start hacking on my Vigor. NOT!!!!!! But seriously that looks like a cool heli. I would like to see that puppy fly. And seeing as how we do live in the same state, it could happen some day. Your freind has tallent for sure. He should apply with JR in their design department.

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

SKILLS

My friend, Ed, has also built a 100 pound r/c helicopter! Yes, that's right 100 pounds. It is a coaxial (2 rotors, one on top of the other and they spin in opposite directions). Each disk has a 9 foot rotor span!
He made the fiberglass blades from scratch.

It has a go-cart engine in it and yes it does fly! I wish I could post pics of it but I cannot due to the fact they are going to patent the control system as it is one of the simplest ever designed (as far as coaxials go).

They are also building a full scale of the coaxial right now, and actually built the r/c model to see if it would work first.

Ed has also built a 46 size Futura. IT's basically a souped up shuttle with a control system similiar to Robbe's, all custom built!
