Just wondering if anyone else had this.

When i first power up the Rex it sometimes "glitches". The tail will jerk around quite a bit and it seems to cause the whole thing to get very unstable and it jerks around in the air. If i set it down and spool it up to 100% throttle with 0 pitch on the blades then while the blades are spinning still switch to idle up 1 and pop into the air its just smooth as can be. No probs at all. My first thought is that its the bearing in the belt drive input gear because i forgot to glue them into place when i put the frame together (i glued the main shaft bearings just forgot the belt drive gear). Anyway i was thinking that perhaps this could be causing the prob. But just want to hear others ideas before i take the whole thing apart again. If i spool it up to 100% then bring it down to 20% and switch to idle up and immediately take off its smooth for the whole flight with no probs. Its only when i try to take off from a blade standstill that i get probs.

Check your belt.

From a start if its too loose it can hit itself causing it to jerk. Once its spun up it will keep itself a part.

Just an idea.

Also, make sure your mechanics aren't binding in your tail.

....there goes that CA glue sticking to my fingers again!!!!

No binding in the mechanics ANYWHERE Took alot of time on that. It flies beautifully once its spooled up properly and not jerking. Will hover hands off for a good 3 seconds.

As for the belt - I'm a little on the tight side - will get around to loosening that tomorrow.. Loose pressure on one side of the belt at the tail input gear will move side of the belt in about half way to meeting the other side.

I'd say negative on both of those suggestions unless a belt too tight could cause similar symptoms.

On a side note, Its never started jerking in the air once ive "spooled it up the proper way". Will fly smooth to the end of the pack as long as i follow the weird procedure i mentioned above.
