I was wondering whether I used a y cable or a larger receiver what the negatives are if I don't disable the cc35 bec. If I disable it than I have to reassemble it whenever I want to use my phoenix link.

Why not make an adapter to go between the receiver and the cc35 that disables the bec, can be done relativly easily if you are used to making your own y's and extensions. Adds a little weight though.

Then you can leave your connector on the cc35 in on piece.

Sorry just read your post more carefully,

Use a "Y" just disable the power side of it going to the cc35 and the signal on the side to the BEC.

I think your asking if you can run the speedcontrols bec with a ubec, or external bec, if you are using a external bec, YOU MUST DISABLE THE SPEEDCONTROLS BEC< however it is done, some speedcontrols it is done in the programing, some by pulling the red wire in the speedcontrols plug, if the speedcontrols bec is not disconected the bec will be fried!, espacially at higher voltages. pm me with any questions,

I was simply suggesting a way to disable the speed controls bec without having to pull the red wire on its connector. You pull the red wire on the y or extension between the rx and the speed control. This lets you still use the Phoenix link on the cc35.

I have a special futaba Y which has a male receiver on one end and a dual female connector on the other. I can't cut it, so I just pulled the red bec wire to the esc, is there anything else I have to do?

Another gentleman told me that I didn't need to do anything, both becs would work together, doesn't sound like this is true from reading above.

Not to throw stones or anything, but I swear you CAN NOT hook both of them up safely, from an electronics standpoint, I can get into the nitty gritty of why not, but all than need to be understood, is Two power supplies(speedcontrols and the external bec)can not be suppling the same voltage exactly, due to many issues, mainly: restance issues, wire thickness, solder joints, so on. This means that the weaker of the two is going to be recieving current to level or even out the voltage, as far as I understand this is mainly what causes the over heating and over time failure. There is alot more to this but in laymans terms that is the best I can do. PM me if there any other questions, and I can go more indepth if needed
