I had several engine stops during backwards inverted flying...
Does any one knows the problem and a possible solution?
I´m running with OS61SX-H - Hatori 611 - 30% Nitro Fuel
Also auxiliary fuel tank! but still failure...
Thanks to all!

Fuel Tank

Hei Juan how are you?
I'm not ''so good'' after eate in applebees during WC.
I had the same problem, but if you try YS 61 or 80 you won't have this problem.
To use the OS, Webra, you will need to change the silicon tubing inside the tank, not another the same, but a little bit hard silicon tubing or puttin 1or 1.5 cm tubing on the other near the aluminium tubing, see at www.freestyle3d.com at Freya section.
For example, put your tank inverted and move the same way a inverted backwar flight you will notice the tubing is close the fuel way.
I think will see you at next WC or brazilian championship.

If you check the HiroboEagle group at egroups.yahoo.com, you will see this topic discussed more than once.

I had this spate of problems too and tried everything I found on the net like the advice from freestyle3d as well as other members.

In my experience, here's what you need to check;

- Fuel tank does not leak.

In my case, I filled the tank with fuel, then closed all but one of the outlets and force injected more fuel using a syringe, to my surprise, I found fuel squirting out on the unused holes in the stopper. Try tumbling the tank a bit while doing this to check for all possibilities.

- Stiffer clunk line.

Following freestyle3d.com advice about doubling up the fuel line in the clunk, I did this mod but doubled up the fuel tubing not just from the nipple, but all the way to the middle of the entire length so the clunk is flexible, but gets stiffer as it goes to the nipple in the tank.

- Engine scoring

The above 2 worked for awhile, but after my recent flame-out (rolling inverted) I finally got down and took the engine down and checked the piston and cylinder for scoring. Sure enough, my piston and cylinder were severely scored so I overhauled the OS61WC.

I too have just bought a YS80 w/ 93 main gear and 11T pinion and after the holidays, I will probably try it already since I think the Freya needs more muscle anyway.

Its gotta be the stock clunk line... I was taking a friends freya for a test drive, did some sustained backwards inverted flying and...silence...

That's it! Out with the OS61 on the Freya

A couple of days ago, I was doing my normal routing, loops, rolls, stalls and autos and again it happened.

While I was rolling the engine quit on me, after learning autorotation I thought to myself, ok no biggie... let it roll upright, turn it toward the wind and auto it down.

Unfortunately, I got to turning it towards the wind when a tree caught the heli and crashed, some minor damage (around $175 inc. blades).

I think it's definetely the stock clunk that's to blame.

Since I got the YS80 and pinion for the Freya, what the heck... let's shove it in and put the OS in the box, maybe I'll put it in a R60 if get the spare cash after my wife spends it for the holidays.
