I put cf blades on my lama thinking it would fly better, but when it lifts of the ground it’s virtually uncontrollable. I have the cabin enterer fitted which makes the front heaver than normal, but it flies ok on the stock blades .Anyone got any surgestions?

I never had any luck getting my lama to fly well with my cf blades no matter how much i screwed around with them so I switched back to the foamies

A group of us have been using CF blades on our XRB's for some time. They do take getting used to and with the r/c version, we use about 20% - 25% expo on the cyclics.

I've been using CF blades on my tethered XRB for over a year with no problems. It does fly bad with a bent main shaft. It will wobble really bad and make it very unstable.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

If you are using a computer style transmitter, you can soften to rapid response by using the exponential settings in the transmitter.
This will still give you much improved cyclic response, but allow the centre to be softend , so as not to be to eratic. We also found that the carbon blades needed to have the roots sanded down a little, so that they were not to tight a fit into the blade holders.
Also, do not tighten the 2mm bolts to tightly. the blades must be allowed to swing freely, without to much restiction.

Thanks for the replies. sent the blades back to the retailer and received an e-mail telling me he had a batch of defective blades, namely the gel coat was too thick on about six sets and needed sanding down like modtron said .,He has put a new tested set was in the post to me.
