Has anyone had probs with getting the canopy to fit over the side levers for aileron? Mine fits over them but its a tight fit and when they move they rub the canopy and when adding positive pitch they pop the canopy right off.

Yes everbody does, you can do a couple of theings to them heat the canopy up a little and reshape or grind the sides out a little so the ballinks miss the canopy, thats what i do. If you look at my gallery you can barely see what i did to my canopy, sorry not a close up on the cut out though, but its barely visiable in the first place.

O Yes! I filed off the little tabs off the outside of the aileron arms and still had to use a hear gun to slightly move the upper portion of the canopy out of the way of the linkage.

Flytech,

Yours looks perfect! What's the technique to making it like yours?

I am having problems with my ball links being too tight as well.

I hope you can give us some step by step instructions...

You favorable and valuable information would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Titan

i use one of these Weller PyroPens:

so i'm not sure if you're gonna go out and buy one for the job but...

you can see it has a slot on the tip, that's where the exhaust/heat comes out (this is where it has an advantage over a heat gun because it can heat a small area).

put the canopy on, put a rod (i use a paintbrush) between the canopy and the linkage rod. heat the LOCAL area only (where the rod is behind) once you see it starting to form, stop and use your fingers to push the plastic around the rod and re-align the canopy edge so it looks straight around the rod. wait a few seconds to cool. done.

You can also use the now world famous Jarod's hair dryer technique.

Hmm... any pics to that Jarod's hairdryer technique? Don't you think it might warp the rest of the plastic?
