I have one of the older XRB "tethered" helicopters that I purchased about a year and a half ago. Worked great for about 6 months, then we pretty much forgot about it, until recently. Nothing I am aware of has been done or has happened to the heli, however the onboard motor will not turn at all. The aileron/collective servo or whatever it is, can be seen moving, however nothing out of the motor.

Any suggestions on a starting point for trouble-shooting?

Have you tried to test the motor to see if it works?

Just read your post...thanks. Will give that a look/see and let you know. What you described sounds exactly like what I am seeing.

XRB motor(s) dead

What Alexi found would be a possible cause if only one of the two motors were dead. If both motors are not responding, maybe the throttle trim is off enough so that the start switch function on the controller is not able to arm the ESC. I found that somehow the trim on mine drifted so that the throttle trim needs to be most of the way down rather than centered to get the start switch to arm the throttle.

Also, depending on the length of time and environment where you stored the Lama, the commutators and brushes in the motors could have become oxidized so that they don't electrically conduct. Possibly spinning the motor over vigorously would polish up the commutators and get them going.
