I would hate to get a radio glitch with the battery plugged in and have it go full tilt off the table like the micro helis!!

Keep the motor unplugged until you're ready to fly. You don't work on your nitro heli with the motor running do you?

Hey Guys,
If you want to see some real information jump over to the rc-groups.com website and have a look in there for Gary Godrum's posts (tppacks.com) and steve neu. They are setting up quite a few different power systems for the swift which will probably be more affordable then the tango 45-10 etc

cheers

I was quite excited about this bird, and wanted to get one, it would suit me much better at this point than a glow heli. But all this hype and no deliverly is getting me down, and loosing interest quick. Oh well, I will see how it is when it comes out, and listen to other opinions rather than just the people that work for Century.

Wish I could post pics but it really does fly nice.

Motor options are in the works too, Tango being the OH MY GOD power motor so far.

Steve NEU is making a special motor just for it to called the ORK.

Stay tuned.

Man teasing us again. I was thinking of going with a logo, cause I got tired of waiting for this thing, but the Logo 10 just wont do what I want at this point. I want something that can lift a small camera mount that I have, a 30 size one, I think the swift will do this just fine, being able to swing 550's.

This just sucks The company has been teasing us with a ETA thats never come around, we keep getting told that everything is in the works and motor/battery combos are being tested. I am glad you finally got a video of it flying out So that I actually know this thing exist and isnt all HYPE. Im sadden by the fact its taking this long and this mutch hype.

But that just means that everything will work perfectly, there will be no parts recalled, the manual will be clear and easily understood.

I want to say bleep you to the swift but I really want a 30 size electric and from what Im hearing the swift might be the most cost efective.

still wait, but looking forward to the rainbow at the end of the journey

Yeah, we all wish it was out. Just for info the heli you see in many of the Videos is the one I setup.

It is stock out of the box and does 3D fine. Bling will be coming for it too.

I personally think bling is useless unless it has some type of performance benifit that can justify the cost. Im just really wondering what a somewhat aerobatic setup will cost. Guess I will find out in due time.

2 short videos

I put this together quick.
I have one of the test Swifts and I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to have had Kyle Stacey fly mine for a bit at one of the recent shows.

Thanks again Kyle your a great guy !!! Look forward to watching you for years to come....

The vid is lower quality and a bit blurry so I picked Blurry for the music...

Just some smooth getting used to it flying ...

Enjoy !

Swift Video 1
please do a right click save as to run local. Streamed quality is poor on this vid

The second video is me on the first test flight running a mega 22/30/4
Governor mode set at 80%
Nothing fancy just an initial test flight the once around the block to check temperatures ect... got a few multiple rolls in later in the flight.
The roll speed will show you she has mega cyclic speed....

Test flight 1 swift aug. 2005

enjoy !

flight time

First off I am running the older kokam 2000 packs 4 total for 6s2P They are older gen packs from what is out now. But I had them already...

With the Tango I flew 2 min first then we flew the 4 mins of 3D so 6 min total and the power started coming down. It only used 2600MAH but the cells I had just did not like the amp drain and it could not keep up with the watt demand. The pack got real hot. A newer generation pack I would say a 8 Min hard 3D flight would be reasonable. The newer cells you can carry many more MAH and handle more amps as well or go for weight and only carry a 6s1P approx 3500MAH 30C pack... thats 70A rated and you should get a good 7 min hard 3D run
I think this is in the test plan. No results I know of yet

now with the mega motor
I have been flying about 8 Min with no power drop off. the pack has only been taking 2000MAH of the 4000 MAH to fill back up. I have been charging 4 packs seperatly to keep them balanced, A 2000 MAH pack takes 1000 to fill up

I am working my way up each flight to keep it safe as it is a prototype and to keep from injuring my pack.

10 min is the longest flight I have had 1300 MAH to refill on that flight and It was moderatly aggesive.

Whats the power like with the mega, is it compareable to the Tango. Is the Mega a cheaper alternative?

I'm just gonna buy a Logo. I don't see any indication that the Swift is going to be any better.

Saw the Swift today

I just happened to see the Swift at a local field today, which was (coincidentally) immediately after I watched someone at another local field doing some pretty intense 3d on a Raptor 90. Point being, i was provided with a chance to compare nitro to eheli (size considerations aside)

I gotta say, for the $, the Swift is looking pretty sweet. He was running a 6S TP, not sure about the motor, and it *really* got up and went (climbout was easily comparable to the rappy). Wind was a little too high for anything too intense, but he managed to still get in some pretty crazy climbouts as well as some nice flips.

At this point, i may make my jump from micros (Shogun) to a Swift instead of getting a rappy.

I was thinking the same thing but the power setup is just going to be killer. I'm still debating between the swift and the new Trex pro. But I'm leaning towards the pro because I don't want to dish out 300-400 just for battery, esc, motor. Hmm, we'll see if century will come up with another killer combo for this electric.
