I am not so worried about stiff dampening, but it seems it would be easier for them to stock 6mm for all the helis instead of 5mm for the Hawk and 6mm for the Falcon and Raven.

OOPS - my bad Oldfart

I should have read through it all more clearly - that should do the trick very well. I know a few around here that will be getting the sleeve for their standard Hawk Sports.

Ultimate 30?

I like the lower frames. It has none of the falcon/raven head parts from the swash up except the 6mm spindle. I dont know what makes this the "ULTIMATE 30". Maybe if they 30 size the falcon.

I never used a torque tube on my hawks so I cant comment on how it makes this a better flyer. I wonder if this will effect raven 30 sale since it does not come with a tube driven tail.

50feet,,, I can tell you that the torque tube does not have the drag the wire has, I did notice a increase in power to the main rotor and tail rotor when I converted my Hawk over to the torque tube.

jade,,, the frame is available ($28.95), it is the Falcon/Raven SE frame, # HW3112C,

as for the spacer you will have to ask Century, if you Email Century you should get an answer by the next day.

Jim and Jade,

The stock Hawk sport servo frame (HW3115) will not fit with the HW3112C units of the Falcon, and Hawk Pro.

He would also need the HW3115A ($22.95) Falcon servo frame set.

As for the 6mm spacer for the spindle, I would imagine that it will have a seperate part number once the Hawk Pro is released. I do not immagine it would be very costly.

new hawk

looks like it might have metal side frames but beside the torqe tube and decals ,and the discripion on the heli on the centery site it seems just like the current hawk with a torqe tube, i wish the would offer a combo price with all the options. sure would be nice to get it at a price that still beats the raptor in price. and have a heli that could 3d better than the raptor, i have a raptor 90 and i bought a hawk sprort last year flys good i let 2 other guys who fly a raptor 30 fly it and they cant belive how smooth it flys compared to the raptor. if aNY ONE BUYS A NEW HAWK LET US KNOW. WHAT DIFFERENT

the lower the manuver the more the wow raptor 90 and hawk sport,

emilsanto,

The new Hawk Pro also includes a full complement of bearings, and the rear tail rotor servo mount. Both of these were upgrades available for the Hawk Sport.

Steve, I assume it includes all the bearings in the "bearing upgrade kit"? I recently installed this in my Hawk Sport, I could not believe how tight it made the head. Almost no slop at all now. This is one of those "must have" upgrades for the hawk.

I can't think...

{now there's a revilation!) of any helicopter I've ever owned that didn't have an anti-rotation bracket of some kind. What keeps the Hawks swash plate without this bracket from rotating or twisting? Seems rather silly not to include this item on the helicopter during production. Even my worthless lowly, crappy, POS old GMP Cricket had one. Like another fellow said here."Wads up wit dat!"

Enquiring mindlessness want's to know!

Scott!

The Hawk's elevator bellcrank keeps the swash from rotating, the anti-rotation bracket just relieves the bellcrank of that stress.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

There are lots of helicopters these days with newer control systems that have no antirotation "bracket". The Predator is one. It has an elevator "A" arm that acts like the elevator "A" arm on the Hawk, however the one on the Predator is much more robust.

Give credit where credit is due

Not being a real Century fan, I must say that Century looks to have a pretty nice ship on their hands while keeping the price the same as they have been marketing the Hawk I/ II/ III/ IV at for years. This heli is worlds better then the older varieties.

I still would like to see a couple of things change before I buy another century heli, but they are moving in the right direction

Antirotation...

OK, then tell me just how much of a problem does this become. Looks like allot if you use crappy servos or none if you use the latest $1000 servo? I have used just standard servos in all my helis and never had a problem. Not saying that I wouldn't have had a problem, but "I" never did! I could be putting in some of the most expensive servos in a helicopter that could total more that the rest of the helicopter combined. I thought that this was supposed to be a fun hobby, not how much more can I spend on my helicopter than you do. Why not go ahead and put this mod into the kit and not have to worry about weither or not it might destroy a servo over time anyway. Just my .02 worth! I'll order the mod when I order my Hawk, just to be on the safe side. I figure if I put $30-$40 servos in it it should be fine. I think the old NER-501's I used in the Kalt Baron 50 were nowhere near that price and they always worked fine. In fact I.m still using them in a plane.

perfesser zero,
I have two hawks that I have now upgraded to the metal side frames, metal servo tray, ball bearing upgrade, along with a couple of other things. I have been flying both my hawks in a pod and boom form with no anti-rotation bracket. These hawks have flown great and I use standard Hitec servos. I think you would not have to worry about having it unless you want the peace of mind when flying. I think century has done a great thing here if you think about it. I was looking at it early today wish this would have come out a year ago. I did a cost on the hawk sport to get it flying in a scale body by century
1. hawk sport 159.99
2. lower side frame set 28.95
3 servo frame set 22.95
4. ball bearing upgrade 22.95
This is roughly around 234.00 to get the hawk to fit in the fun-key fuse. and if I looked at it right the torque tube is around 50.00 that brings the cost to 284.00 roughly.
The hawk pro is going to come with all this and a couple of extra items for 199.99. I think this is a great way to get people flying both pod and boom and sport scale. The newbie can fly the pod and boom to get good a flying helicopters then remove the tailboom supports purchase a fun-key fuse and correct boom length and have a great sport scle helicopter. anyway sorry for the long post but thought i might point that out. take care mike lansford

Hawk Pro...

Well it's just my luck they are now coming out with an upgraded version. Problem is it's not for another month or so and you know how release dates go. It'll probably be May before we actually see them. Kinda like Hitec and the Optic 6. No problem though as the Hawk Sport should do me just fine for sometime to come. As cheap as they are I'll not have much trouble keeping one flying. I'll look into all the mods that are available to put on it and deside which ones I can and cannot live without. Of course I guess I could just go with the Raven and be done with that part, but I'm trying to keep this hobby stuff low on the radar screen of my wife. She's already going to shoot me for buying a new JR 8103 TX. She just doesn't understand all this stuff. Of course I could try to bribe her with a new computer! Hah!!!
