First of all, let's see how the flight tests are going.

If everything works as expected we will surely consider making these available commercially, either directly from us or through a retailer.

It's cool that you slotted the CF spacers into the sides - neat! What is it that you're using to hold the tail shaft in place solidly?

Basically just two CF plates arranged vertially. The tail boom passes through a hole in each of the plates (tight fitting) and is then tightened down to the frame with a cable tie.
The cable tie goes over the boom, through two slots in the CF plate below the boom and back up to the boom. If desired one can also glue the boom in, but we prefer to have the option for easy removal....
So far it works fine "on the bench", the tail boom does not move or twist.

We used the same simple technique on our Zoom/Shogun frame, so we figured why not try it on the T-REX as well.
Here a picture of the Shogun (don't have a close-up of the REX handy at the moment):

Interesting concept - let us know how it works in flight. It's using clamping pressure to hold the boom in place just like the original frame doe - don't see any problem with that. Would defintiely not want to CA the boom in place as it would make removal impossible without drilling. If the cable tie method doesn't work, as an alternative perhaps a collet with grub screw could be used to positively lock the boom between the two supports.

Looking nice! How much weight can be saved using the CF frame compared to stock?

Align must be looking at all the good ideas everyone comes up with, so I am sure we will see the next T-rex frame with top mount motor and CCPM. I just wonder if they will make it CF?

This "clone's?" CF version is nice...but I want to see it as CCPM.

T-REX clone?

It seems closest to the current layout of the plastic T-REX. Room for motor w/heatsink and batteries.
