My ESC settings are as follows
Cutoff Voltage...... Auto Li-Po
Cutoff Type.....Soft
Brake Type.......Disabled
Throttle Type.........Gov High
Soft Start..........Soft

I am running a Mega 16/15/4 with TP2100G2. It kept cutting out and droping like its pulling too many volts. Before I got the TP2100 G2 I was using an Etec pack from myt hornet to trim it out and I had no problems. I even hovered it four feet with no cut outs. Any sugestions?

If you have the usb plug for the esc you can download the new version wich has the newest settings. it dosent mater because if I change it to 9V it still dose the same thing.

Hi go2heli,

It's nothing to do with voltage cut-off. It's the over-current protection that cuts off the power supply. I guess your setting is drawing too much current (over 25A for Phoneix 25). Before that you were using a E-Tec pack which was a lot lighter and you didn't have to push the current over the limit.

To overcome this problem, you have to find a way to lower the current draw. The following ways help:
- lower the pitch
- increase the head speed
- use a smaller pinion
- use a lower KV motor

Hope it helps.

Lots of people are using this motor and battery combo, so after spending $90 on it I would like to keep it. When I set it up I did put the largest pinion on it. I will try a smaller one. Can anybody recomend the right size that has this motor, esc, battery combo? How do I increase the headspead? I have a Futaba 6 ch.

No, it is the voltage that is cutting you off. Most guys set it at 4 volts which basically disables it. Your batteries will let you know when it is time to land....the heli won't hover well.
I set the voltage to 4 volts, soft cutout, brake disabled, fast start, and current limiting set to insensitive or disabled--whichever is worse for the ESC. I'd rather smoke an ESC or a battery than crash the heli......
Not sure what pinion to use but a smaller pinion might be a good idea. There are tons of postings here for this motor. You could also recheck and maybe reduce your pitch curve a bit. If at +/-10 degrees, try 9 degrees. The only way to increase headspeed is increase throttle or decrease pitch-- or a bit of both.
