I cant stand the plastic flybar control things... im talking about the 'L' shaped plastic parts that get held on to the flybar by a set screw. My first set that came with the kit stripped. I tried to fix it by doing some tips i found on the forum (making 2 small 'flat' spots on the flybar so the screw holds it better, using a drop of CA to fix the stripped out plastic, etc.) but nothing is working. I ordered another set and it doesnt tighten well either. This is getting frustrating.. does anyone know if someone is making them in aluminum or something yet or if there are any plans on one coming out?

Does anyone know if the shogun flybar contorls will fit on the trex? They are made of aluminum so if they fit, i wanna try them...

as long as they fit the flybar diameter and are the same basic shape they should work fine... I agree they are a pain, I just squirt a little CA into the set screw hole on the one that is loose, it will make it a little more work when I need to replace the flybar, but at least it stays there... if you find out the shogun ones work let us know, I might like to get myself a set,

I have found that R48 locktight works best on this issue. It bonds so permanent that I have had to dremel a bent fly bar off becasue I swear it bonds metal like CA does to Balsa. Just make sure you squeeze a drop only on the external side facing the paddle. You dont want to get it near any moving parts. It will penetrate the gaps around the loose arm and rod so you just drop it on and walk away until it dries.

Did you grind the poit off the end of the grub screw? I did that with my orginals and they are holding. It gives you 1-2 more threads into the metal sleeve.

The flats on the flybar were harder since they must be on exactly the same plane. I replaced my flybar after a crash and didn't bother with them. This one is holding too so it may not be necessary to do it.

zap ones work great with a 3mm plastic spacer ( antenna tubing )
and the zap ball links as the ball sizing is a bit smaller but they fix tightly and easily!
