I was wondering if anyone is using this motor. I beleive it's 4200kv. Or should I go with the chilipepper CP20?

Thanks

Have been happy with mine. Had some issues with the pinion slipping, but that's not the motors problem. It does get hot. Get a heat sink.

I have one, seems to work just dandy. running a 9 tooth pinion, which I used green locktite on and so far, so good. I do not know headspeed just yet, and it does get warm, but I think they all will.
Its a cheap motor that is easy to buy and replace, I figure run it till she pukes, then either buy another or by then, maybe someone will actually have a known good combo out on this forum or somewhere, that is not a bank breaker. I say this cause you can get 100 different answers as to what combo to run, as I think everyone is still searching for just the right setup.
For me, it works fine. Its cheap, easy to get my hands on. I want this heli for flying/learning and beating on, so far, its been good for that.

Using the 9T too. The green didn't hold, neither did the red or retaining compound. Finally went with a pinnion with a set screw. So far, so good.

I have been using the E-flight park 400 4200kv for 2 months now, works very well. I'm using the 9tooth as well, +11/-11 idle up head speed just under 2300. Enough power for good climbouts, flips and FFF. Could use more power, but it does work surprisingly well. It does get very hot, so a heat sink is a good idea.

Swingwing, where did you get your 9 tooth pinion with set screw? I would really like to pick one up for the day mine fails or gives me a problem. Thanks a ton.

Saw a thread with the Chilipepper shaft snapping. I think i'll stay away from that. Looks like I'll just buy the 400L motor for now and wait till I get better and get the LF400 motor

Thanks guys..

Gabbia- yes the zoom pinions will work, they are the same pitch.

I was able to find pinions with set screws at my LHS. I believe they were made by Megatech, 8 tooth and up. Probably for the Micro RS4 cars.
