While working on a friends TREX,
we encountered tail glitching,
every 10 seconds a nasty twitch to the left

After landing I noticed that the boom was hot,
the belt was rather loose also

I'm thinking that the belt wsa rubbing on the metal boom,
and building up static electricity,
when it builds up to the point where it can release
I assume it got the tail servo, gyro or rx

Not 100% sure yet, going to have to work on it

My TREX has a carbon boom so I have not encountered this problem

hay Jafa.. so i guess this was only happening when the heli was spun up - right? if so, would slowing down the throttle cause a longer delay? and does any kind of glitch occur if the model is plugged in but not running or moved around in various orientations with the hand?

intriguing problem..

edit: i assume tightening the belt (so that it would not rub against the boom tube) would not cause a glitch? - just curious..

Yup, this only occurs when she is spun up.
This problem has only just developed,
the belt is loose compared to previous flights,
that and the heat make me think that it is the belt rubbing on the boom
which may be causing static and the eventual glitches.

We've previously never encountered glitches on either TREX,
but other people (Australia and U.S.A) are encountering glitches,
which is why I thought I would post this - could be a common issue

I will be tightening the belt tomorrow and try again
(the boom is loctited in so it's a bit messy)

its not a glitch, your belt is hopping teeth, mine did that when i first set it up real loose. Tighten it up and you will be fine
