Stock all the way...

Yep the stock Freya's work great. The two reps in my area turned me onto that one. Really flys well and best of all they are cheap! I just by 2 sets at a time and have a spare for both ships always.
The stock Freya's are pretty much the same price as the stock Sceadu. Maybe a 1 or 2 more I can't remember, but either way worth the extra cash and you will be suprised how much abuse a set of those stock blades will take. They will not make a difference till you try holding a heading with some wind or into forward flight so the "upgrade" is not necessary right away, but next time you order parts I would pick up a set or two.

I already have a couple sets laying around. I have a Freya I just was wondering. SInce I am running those SABs there is no reason to change em out just yet. Thanks for the tip!

Good spares...

Yep good spares in case that pesky ground rubs your tail feathers.

Jimmy,
As for fuel try giving ZOOMS a shout they are in LA. Maybe they can help you out on getting fuel.
The Omega stuff works fine from what I hear. Just more smoke and that castor staining. If you broke the engine in on it. Stick with it. Besides getting fuel from the mail is a pain best to stick with picking it up locally IMO. Maybe the shop will order you in a case of something else if you ask?

Which hatori pipe would I use on a .32? Do I need a header and all that jazz also? Are they harder to tune, what is involved?

I think the shop I go to (Sheldons Hobbies in San Jose) has a few other brands. I just didn't know what to look for when I originally bought my 1st gallon. If I switch to synthetic is that a bad move since I broke in (I hope I did) on the Omega?

In this particular case may I suggest giving cyberheli a shot at it. He's got them at very resonable prices.

You don't need a header or anything like that. It's a standard muffler mounts straight to the engine like your stock muffler.

Sorry I don't have the part number anymore. Just let them know what you want to do and they will hook you right up.

If you go with a "pipe" then the noice level goes up too.

Remeber we are talking about 2 different things. a pipe and a muffler.

A pipe gives more power and is noiseier.

A muffler can provide smoother transitions and quiet things down.

Anything is better than the stock muffler you are running

Which is it you are looking for?

I am not too concerned with power yet so I just want something quiet. Once I learn and am comfortable with forward flight etc... I may just upgrade to a .50 if power becomes an issue. So for now, the cheapest way to quiet me down is what I want.

Is there some trick to the Cyberheli website? I can never find any catalog or anything on there, just a few random prices etc...

Hatori and fuel...

Well first off you can buy a Hatori for the 32. The SB-8 should work fine.
IMO the 46 sized Century muffler is the way to go. The 32 and 50 seem to run much better on an oversized muffler. At least up here they do.
Give Scott at Zooms (no I am not trying to plug the shop. ) a call, he has a lot of experience with the Hatori and the OS32. I am sure he can hook you up with the right muffler.
Changing fuel is not a big deal IMO. Just means you are going to have to re-tune for it.
I would change one at a time. Start with the muffler or the fuel and tune for that. Get the heli flying good then change the other. It is easier that way less of a headache and wondering which did what.
I would also put the needles back in the factory settings before you change either one out. I find it is easier to re-tune that way. I just got done fighting a muscle pipe on the Freya so engine re-tuning is a sore subject with me. Still am not sure it is tuned well. since I haven't had any time/weather to go fly it. Just hovered in the lawn.

Cool thanks for the advice. While we're on the topic of tuning. When I'm done with my helicopter there is usually some excess fuel that runs out of the pipe. I know I'm not running rich on the high end, so do you think I may be a bit fat around idle and need to lean it out?

Maybe...

That is kind of normal. All 3 of mine will do that from time to time. If it is transitioning well then don't mess with it. By that I mean it goes from idle to hover RPM without stuttering or bogging down.

Wait till you find the damn muscle pipe sliding forward in it's mount. This causes the tuning to change. Talk about head ache! OY This was my first attempt at trying something else after switching to all Hattori. I am getting ready to switch to another hattori again. They tune so easily.

You can try the Century muffler for sure. Sounds like it woks well.

BIG zip ties....

Ken,
Been there done that! That is why I am using BIG zip ties
I still think it will be a constant preflight. If it turns out to be too much of a pain I will put my Hatori knockoff back on or buy a Hatori 90 muffler.
