| Well Guys you are not going to believe this, and this is why I am concerned. My TX pack failed seconds after I had landed, The pack had a cell in it that for same reason developed a high internal resistance that shorted the rest of the pack causing total failure without warning (this is what the shop told me, they replaced the pack free of charge). The pack had been charged correctly on my shultz charger and had displayed no unusual symptoms. Now I thought as you did Boyd, why not rig two identical TX packs in parallel. However if the pack were to short out inside, would it not also short out the other pack? The answer to that I think has to be yes. Now I have been flying model aeroplanes for years and never had a problem, but I think that any back up is better than none.
With regard to housing the reserve pack I have found a really neat little box which I could attach with heavy duty Velcro, this sounds a bit messy but it's not, it looks very tidy and you don't damage the TX at all save putting a little nick in the battery cover for the reserve wire to go through. Mmm food for thought chaps! So what do you recon, how can We electronically isolate this pack should it fail? I wish I knew more about electronics!
