Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > Servos on my Nexus 30 stopped working suddenly

Hi,
I'm from Singapore and I have bought a used Nexus 30 and JR388. I have always wanted to fly rc heli but only got enough to buy a used heli(student with no income).
Things are not smooth going. My first attempt at hovering resulted in a tip over. The cyclic servo was out of place and the previous owner claim that he didn't know anything about it. Fortunately there was no damages except cutting some grass on the field.
On my next attempt to fly the Nexus, the servos stopped moving completely. The servos always moved a little at the moment you switch on the battery. I have charged the rx batt overnight and I could heard the gyro.
I suspect that the JR receiver could be spoiled but I do not know of any method to check it.
I also suspect that the battery is dead although I have charged it. The gyro sound is lower than usual.
Anyone knows what is the problem?
I really regret buying a used heli. I have not flown it since I bought it 3 weeks ago. I spend all the time on making sure the heli is working fine and buying stuff to repair. I'm really disappointed and my passion for flying heli will not die.
Will be saving up for a Sceadu 50 and Futaba FF9CHP. Hirobo and Futaba are the best.

My 4.8V 1000mAH batt

Hi,
I measured the 4.8V 1000mAH batt using a DMM from my lab. The measured voltage was only 2.6V when fully charged. Could this be the cause for the no moving servos?
I also measured the voltages on the reciever. It was 2.6V on the red wire. The readings for the orange wire is at about 0.15V when the stick on the transmitter that corresponds to a particular servo is put to down position.
Am I correct to say that the batt is dead?

Hi,

i think that you should buy a new battery and may be a good charger...
2.6Vmeans that you battery is dead.

Sounds like you definitely need a new battery pack. Replace it and you should see your servos move!

dead battery

Hi,
I borrowed my friend's reciever and battery.
My battery doesn't work with his receiver. However his battery works with my receiver. Thankfully that it's the battery that is not working or else I have to spend money to buy a new reciever.
cheers
