Anyone tried the Neumotors on a trex? I have heard good things about them on the shogun.

Neumotor on a Rex

I already bought two motors to try with my TRex. Anyone know where you can get a Neumotor CHEAP? Where is the best price. I am not willing to pay top dollar for a motor only to find it average in performance.

There are several of us here with a Trex and we all have different motors. None really stand out yet except for maybe a Chili Pepper 3600. Haven't tried a Mega 16/15/3 but that may be my next choice unless I can't be convinced something else is better.

Have you read the above thread I listed? If that is not enough to sway you to buy a Neu, I don't know what would.

Unfortunately I have never seen it below $99.

The only problem is they are talking about it using in a 4s setup.

I am sure it will work better on 3S than lets say the Mega 16/15/3. Albig said this also I think (he has both). I am running the Mega now and a Neu is on its way. I will be using it on 3S TP2100 as I have so many of them and I am positive it will be better (hope so at least ). Neu is lighter and will run more efficiently too. Also Mega is 3000kv motor, Neu is 3500kv. This means I can run the Neu with a samller pinion (11 vs 13 for Mega) so torque should be better too. Neu runs a whole lot cooler too with the built in fan. I don't like how hot the Mega gets if I am hovering in the living room (around 170º-190º). Outside now (32º-50ºF) it's fine (130º) but what about summer?

they make a 2.3mm and a 3.2mm shaft. Which would be better? Does it matter?

I bought the one with 2.3mm shaft. It is easier to buy the needed pinions for it. Align part# HZ020
They are all 2.3mm bore.

LOL
the align motor is 3.17 and yes there is a difference, 2.3 is not anywhere near the align shaft size. the align gears, being 3.2 bore (.1245) will fit the Neu motor nicely, the 3.2 Neu that is, as far as preference, it is easier to use the align gears, but you would need to match those with the battery used. be carefull.

Be carefull of what?? I said the correct info! If you are going to slam me at least check the specs first (Align site). I have ordered all these and have measured the bores myself to make sure.

Motor main gear (9T,10T,11T) HZ020
$US3.60
9T x 2.3 x 1
10T x 2.3 x 1
11T x 2.3 x 1
M3 x 3 set screw x 3

Motor main gear (11T,13T,15T) HZ021
$US3.60
11T x 3.17 x 1
13T x 3.17 x 1
15T x 3.17  x 1
M3 x 3 set screw x 3

I know the T-rex kit comes with a 11t 3.17mm bore pinion as wel (since this is a 3500kv motor 13t or 15t pinion would be too big)l, the reason I told him to buy the 2.3mm shaft is so that he could switch to smaller pinions more easily later on if he wanted to go 4S. Align's smaller pinions are 2.3mm bore, I have them here sitting in front of me.

I didnt mean to slam you dnam at all! I didnt know align made 2.3's either, what I was refferring to about being carefull is useing the right pinion for the 3s vs a 4s battery. Sorry if my post looked as if I was making fun, that was not my intention at all.
