The Skeeter takes 2, that's Pete and Will inside the cockpit, But I have seen a Skeeter with stretchers! That means that Bell Bloke and Ian748 will have to go Club Class (make that Air Freight) outside. How many tanks of fuel would that be to Southern California??
stephanuccio, now look what you've got yourself into. One generous and well meant invite to Southern California, and suddenly you have an invasion of loony tune English types, flying on overloaded 2 seat hastily converted 5 seat, vintage, British army helicopter that will probably have to make 126 fuel stops and reach you by Christmas! Knowing the Skeeter though the little lad will get there........given time. So have you enough room in your neighbourhood for some Brits to pitch a helicopter and a tent? And could you and Boyd put up with our all night BANTER?

Good idea, we'll have to follow a tanker though! or maybe Bell Blokes Li-Po idea might work, between us we must have a load of 3s1p's and I've got a soldering iron..........no probs!!

Ok Guys.

You are ALL invited. I will start filing the divorce papers tomorrow !

Oh well. Its either that or we will have to find a cosy little hotel in San Diego and leave the wifes/girlfirends/partners behind (at least for a little while)

My wife is already sick of my hobby but if she sees me import lads from the other side of the pond I think she is going to kill me.

My wife's not into diamonds. She always says that if I ever could spend a lot of money for her she would want art. Renoir, Chagall, Picasso anyone ?

At this rate we are gonna be thrown out into the off topics area. A word of explanation about the diamonds story is needed I think.
A few months ago we took the girls out on a boys car indulgence day. Bell Bloke realising that the girls might be getting a little bored of all of this car stuff decided to redress the balance and take the ladies to a purveyor of posh stones. There I managed to persuade the assistant to let the girls try on their best rock a $120,000 jobby no less. This made their day and bought us a few more hours doing boys things!!

hi Bell Bloke

How is that Lama coming along ?

I have been waiting for your progress so you could tell me what to buy. I am going to go straight to electric as discussed but since it is expensive stuff I want to make sure it is tested by a pro like you first ! Just tell your progress. Pictures would be great.

And remember, you are supposd to hook me up with brackets etc... to help me set this e-lama up.

Cheers,

Stephan from Rainy Los Angeles.

Hi stephanuccio, I'm really sorry things have gone quiet. I'm still waiting for bits i.e. speed controller! I ordered the damn thing and waited last 3 weeks, I then thought better give them a call and see where it is and guess what? They forgot to order it, so I'm still waiting. The only good thing is that I have been busy wrighting an article on the Electric Bell 47 that is up and running, that will be in RotorWorld next month I think.

I am on the case and I promise to give you all the help I can including machining, But I'm still waiting which is very annoying. Things in the USA are a bit different, when you buy from a shop in your country you are doing them a favour. Over here in England when you buy from a shop they are doing you a favour! It really is like Fawlty Towers or Monty Pythons Dead Parrot Sketch somtimes. When I asked were my part was the chap in the shop asked me whom I spoke to, I said I thought it was Brian, to which he replied "Oh you don't want to speak to him he's always forgetting things, he's hopeless!" Well what can you say to that? Any way I will put up a post even when I get this controller just to let you know it's here. All The Best stephanuccio.

Hi folks, well I've been quiet for quite a while now but things have suddenly got moving again. The Jeti speed controller has arrived and THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO! stephanuccio, I hope you will be delighted to know that I have purchased 2 of everything so that when the time comes you will be able to complete your Lama conversion with the minimum of hassle and with a set up that works and is tested! Cool!
They say that pictures speak a thousand words, so here they are.

You will note the last couple of pictures. Look at the mess my playroom gets in when I'm helicopter building. I am actually a very methodical person when I have a clear direction, but when in uncharted waters the **** hits the fan and I go into freefall thinking mode. This is the room in freefall thinking mode, note my little lathe in the corner. Oh yes and good listening to get in the right mood on my QUAD ESL 67 electrostatic speakers, good enough for the Beatles at Abby Road, good enough for me and definitely the best loudspeakers in the world!
Anyway the Lama HAS FLOWN! I use the word flown in the broadest sense. It has transpired that my carefully painted wooden blades are for the trash as one of the blades is 13grams heavier than the others BLOODY HELL!! Now the Lama 3 bladed head did not like this one bit and threatened to self-destruct if I pressed on. Undiscouraged by this and determined to get my Lama into the air before Boyd-Hoverup I did press on with my mission to get 6 inches of daylight between the ground and the underside of my Lama. Well it flew briefly and then I put it down. I have now ordered a matched set of blades ready for next time.
A brief flight assessment? Well it's noisy, very noisy in fact and it's powerful, OH YES!
Oh it's also noisy I think I may have said that but it is noisy and a bit scary.
I do jest folks this heli is a winner, the set up was all over the place horrendous infact but it flew, in that room and it seemed fine. So the upshot is new blades on the way and the we are GO FOR LUNCH, sorry LAUNCH. Watch this space and all the best.

THANKS

All I can say is thanks ! I am far from ready myself. I am still finishing the Mercedes I started a couple of mouth ago. It's lloking very good. I will get some picturesw later. I am, doing the interior now. Real Tan leather seats with Blue pipping. The body will be Navy blue. Should be a nice combination. In a few months I will buy the lama and all the duplicate parts from you and I will go straight to electric. It's going to be fun. I can't wait.

Thanks again. Keep posting pictures.

PS. I wish I had a play room like that. My kid has invaded all available play space. I work out of a small 40 inch desk.

Skeeter Pilot last time you came down to my place you ate all the truffles in the freezer, drank all the Chablis in the cellar, passed water in the conservatory and then passed out in the front garden. Then in the morning you tried to make toast in the DVD player after I told you that you had the wrong instruction manual. So here's the deal you stop making toast in your video machine and I'll stop using my heaters for speakers! Oh and one more thing, how the hell did that ASS imprint get on my bathroom shaving mirror?!
How's my spelling Ian748?
