Anyone use a 6XHS in their heli, I have one and I am ready to start messing with idle-up settings. I am just starting to figure out that this radio is already not enough. I only have this radio cuz it came with my heli(Shuttle) but will have to use it for a little while longer. Because it only has 1 idle-up setting, it seems there is no way to set it up so there is 100% throttle at full down stick (full negative pitch), like an idle-up 2 setting on a better radio. Hence, it looks like I won't be doing any inverted flight with this set-up when I get good.....Is this true with this radio? has anyone on a budget like me used this radio?

Hello,
I had (still got) a 6XHS radio (FF6) and i came across the same problem. Its a very limiting radio, your right - only 1 idle up and no way to increase the throttle for decreasing (negative) pitch. Loops, rolls, stall turns etc are fesible but prolonged inverted flight and inverted hovering are definietly (i wish i could spell) out of the window.

I believe this radio was upgraded to remove this limitation a few years back but I have an earlier one and prusumably you do to. At the
time i had no money for a better radio so i made an electronic mixer
with a microcontroller to give me that idle-up 1 (V-curve for throttal and it modifed pitch also). It only cost a few pounds but took two weeks
to make, i'm a bit of an electronics fanatic so it was interesting.

Adam.

I got the same lemon

As I have taken the training gear off now. I also find myself in the situation. ATM I can't afford to buy new gear yet. I also may being trying to go to fast into a crash situation. Are loops, rolls, and inverted possible with this setup ? Or can I substitute flight modes for different model memmories ? Granted I gotta land before I load a different different model...

Thanks guys, well I have been heavy into setting my shuttle up with this radio and have realized the true to this delemma. I am definitely not ready for inverted yet(months at least ) so no big problem. I have been learning quite fast though and feel I need the Futaba 9C so I will start saving my pennies......On a good note---I flew 2 tanks today and finally have the Shuttle running smoothly...I'm ready to rip up some sky now in idle up for the first time ...Wish me luck....thanks again for the input
