HI to all xtr users,

I'm in working progress for modeling the raptor 90

John will do the parameter file and sound.

You can visit his website: http://www.rchelicopterweb.com

and at the end of the project this raptor will be available for download ONLY on this website

at this date, I have finished last night the cockpit, the rest will comming soon. The relust will be equal or higher as the quality of the raptor 50 that comes with xtr...

Hi,

You can see a preview on my web page:
http://www.rchelicopterweb.com

Just click on the Simulators section on the left menu.

[edit]

Sorry, I had to remove the picture, because my web hosting provider is complaining about the bandwidth my site is using (over 20GB per month).

This removal avoids that for every view of this topic the picture is downloaded from my site. If you want to see the nice pictures, then please visit my site: http://www.rchelicopterweb.com/ and click on: "Simulators"

[/edit]

Just check now and then to see if the model is ready. I am working on the .par file now. Note that the first .par file (behaviour) will be exactly like my own Raptor 90, which is very lively.

It has a 1850 headspeed, SAB 710 blades of only 168 gr. and 20 gr. long SAB paddles, metal head with the more direct mixing option and the Carbon Extreme dampers. It rocks :-)

Best regards,

John

Looks great.

What software do you use to create the models? (I don't have XTR, just curious.)

Hi Nitro Duck,

Progress is taking place, but it is a lot of work to get things right. Vincent is taking utter care that the model is modelled perfectly with the utmost detail and realism.

We need to take additional pictures for some details. The pictures taken thusfare for the modelling already exceeds 60 MB!

I am currently working on the .par file. I already have a .par file that describes the physical simulation model of the Raptor 90. It is the version that matches my own Raptor 90 which is very lively! It is quite accurate, but I am still tweeking on the dynamics.

Just watch my website (http://www.rchelicopterweb.com/ ) in the Simulators section, and see what happens :-)

B.t.w., I have installed a PayPal Donate button underneath the Raptor 90 Canopy pictures on my website: http://www.rchelicopterweb.com/Simu.../Simulators.htm.

You can motivate both of us to work harder by donating something for the long hours where we actually should be sleeping, but are making a perfect model instead.

Best regards,

John

I am looking forward for the ready model. I know what work is needed for making such a model. But how do you want to make a higher detailed model as the Reflex Raptor? We made that model last winter and saw our limits in details because more details would slow down any pc that is older than half a year.

Another question To Vinc: Don't you need my SE pics, sounds and PAR anymore?

Hi Henning,

Yes it can be great to have your trim sheme and .par file. I know you worked whith the XTR modeling team for raptors so every Good persons with the RMK experience is welcome, even if its persons who does the XTR raptors! (great respect to this amazing job, this is the best rc simulator that I tried at this day!!)

What we mean when we say that we want model that is equal or higher than the stock raptor that comes with xtr, is that our standard is high, and we want the most beautiful raptor 90, if at the end he's too detailed and slow down the simulation, we will adjust it. We never know if we don't try.

Regards

Hi all,

You can see the latest pictures on my pages: http://www.rchelicopterweb.com and then click on Simulators.

For your convenience I have included a picture: [IMG]

Note that this frame modeling is far from complete, a lot of details need to be added and improved still.

If you want to support Vincent and me in this modeling, then please click on the donate button on my simulators page :-)

Hi,

This Rappy looks AWESOME!

Do you plan to release the RMK project file later on?
So everyone can put his paint job on it?

That would be GREAT!

Those look absolutely awesome. Are you really modelling in RMK ? I could probably pull something off like that in Maya (would take a while though), but I didnt think RMK was that powerful.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to trying out this model. If it flies nearly as good as it looks, it might very well become the most accurate model for XTR out there..
