Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > JR3810 with CSM 400 Gyro ( Gear Switch )

I was wondering how people had the gyro setup on the 3810. In the manual it says you use the gear switch which is what I have mine set as. Then using the gear atv for use as the gain. Seems to fly anyway

On reading the 3810 manual and looking at the radio , I was wondering if I can use the rudder d/r switch and the gyro sense on the radio.
I did briefly plug the servo into the port from the gear and I had little tail response so plugged it back.
Does the gyro sense on the radio only apply to JR gyros.
Also has anyone used a supertec servo with these gyros ???

I have 2 CSM540 gyros one of which is plugged into the gear channel for turning on HH mode. The other is on a ship with a GV-1 and I use the Gear channel there for turning on and off the governor. I use the rudder d/r switch for turning on HH mode there.

CSM 400

ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTIONS ON THE 540, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO USE THE ATVS FOR CONTROL OF GAIN ON THIS GYRO, AND THE GYRO CHANNEL FOR SETTING THE ENGAGEMENT OF HH OR NORMAL MODE. I WOULD ASSUME THIS SHOULD BE THE SAME FOR THE LESSER CSM SERIES.

I'm using a 3810 with a JR460t and use the D/R rudder switch with 2 preset gains. I do however use HH all the time as the 460 can not remotely change. I did think however that you could use the gear channel to change your gyro HH on and assign the hover pitch nob to adjust the gain not affecting the D/R rudder switch. I'm off to dig out the manual..........
