The machines are very similar! They are built by Hyundai for JR, Robbe and now a US distributor, Audacity models is carring them.

There are slight differences in the side frames between all 3 machines, also the Robbe Ornith comes with a bushing setup in the blade grip and the Tiger 50 comes with Thrust Bearings, The Ornith has a 9 tooth pinion, the Tiger comes with a 10 tooth, they run an 89 tooth main.

I haven't had the oportunity to to fly the JR version, but have flown the Ornith and Tiger 50 and they are both very stable machines and I would highly recommend the Tiger 50 for the beginner or expierenced flyer that wants to practive some new tricks but, not on his 2k machine.

Parts are plentiful from Audacity and John ships them out very quickly. I just ordered a Tiger 50 kit and will be documenting the build with photo's like AGRAV8 did with the Predator Gasser, in fact James got to play with Steven's bird when he was here for the Mulberry FF.

Does the tiger 50 have a longer tail boom than the ornith?
Does it fly with 600mm blades?

I have an ornith, the only problem we have are the tail drive belts, it's like dirt is getting stucked between belt and pulley, if you take the dirt out you should think it's a theeth of the belt but when you inspect your belt there is none missing!
Anybody had this same problem before with ornith or tiger?

Regards Gio.

Does the tiger 50 have a longer tail boom than the ornith?

Yes, it's approx 4" longer in fact the Tiger 50 boom is 690mm, part numbers for the tail boom and tail belt for the Tiger are: Boom AH-1518 and Belt AH-0508

Contact John at Audacity Models sales@audacitymodels.com and he will hook you up.

We are flying an Ornith with Rotortech 600 carbons with stock tail blades right now with no problems, the Tiger 50 boom will allow longer blades.

Hi Foxden,

Do you also use a 50 engine in the Ornith?
Did you changed the gearing? main gear or engine gear?
Thanks for help!

Regards,
Gio.

We are converting our Ornith to a Tiger 50, I changed the main blade grips to the Tiger, they have a thrust bearing setup and the grip material is stronger especially at the rear bearing towards the head, I'm changing the clutch bell, Ornith has a 9 tooth pinion, the Tiger bell has a 10 tooth with the 89 main it will have an 8.9 ratio instead of 9.8 this will allow running a higher head speed and get the engine higher in it's power band, The Tiger clutch bell is larger and requires changing the clutch out as well.

Steven is running an OS50SX-H with an MPII hi ratio pipe, I'm building a Tiger 50 kit and plan to put an OS50 Hyper with an MPII quite pipe, I'm going to expieriment with Main and Tail blades with the longer Tiger boom to see what we can run.

We've also tested a raptor 30 flybar with x-cell 3D paddles with very good results, John at Audacity has some new 3D flybars and paddles that he just sent over for us to try and we will test that setup out next weekend.

I just got the new 3D paddles and seesaw from john at audacity models. It changed bell-hiller adjustment from 1:1 to 7:1 ( at the seesaw) now had to add -30% expo Stationary flips and rolls are within its one space. I used the OS50sx with 600carbon mb and 80 carbon tb (its like a rocket ship)
