The Hummingboard could not cope very well with the job of mixing throttle/tail so I upgraded to the Twister board (esp/gyro/mixer). It is a direct swap, just had to lengthen the wires to the main motor and mount the hardware on the oposite side to the original.

The stock tail motor could not handle the new board and got very hot (even with a heat sink) and finally fried. I replaced this with a Century High Perfomance tail motor (N30) and still fitted the heatsink. It only gets warm after 8mins. of hovering and the mixing screw had to be backed off quite a bit.

I back-heeled the stock Ni-MH pack and fitted a 3 cell 860mah Li-Po - A MUST!!!

Finally I clipped about 23mm of each M/R blade, this ups the head speed and increases airframe stability. I also now have another 2" to play with when flying through door ways.

The heli. can now be flown left hand off for at least 25 seconds.

Apart from my own experimentation I got a lot of advise from a friend! Many thanks 'Bell Bloke'.

Hi Bud! I've found that by cutting 70mm off of each blade, now flying through doorways is a piece of cake!
Glad it s working now.

Reading your post, got me thinking...
I've replaced main blades with a tail rotor, brilliant, can now fly catflap sorties!!!!
