e-Electric Conversions > Stock Dragonfly with EDF-40 not lifting much

I just converted my Dragonfly with the head striffener and from GD to DD (wich was deceptful, I was not able to align the pin over the pinion..). Then I converted from DD to EDF-40 after cutting 2" of the boom.

Now My heli does not goes go more than a few feets into the airs. I think it's because of the added weight. I use the stock brush main motor with a stock 8.4v 800mah battery pack.

Do you suggest I use LIPO with brushless motor ? If so, wich motor? What battery pack? Do I need to go separate because I'll need (I guess) a speed controller? Then would it be smarter to sell the 129$ Dragonfly and buy something better equiped instead of investing money in this one? I'm also thinking of going back to GD by buying a new boom but I hated the fragile and not cheap stock rear blades.

What is your opinion?

Thanks
