They are in radioshack now.
I saw one and I bought one.
Incredible piece of machine, its around 69US RTF.
It is a dual rotor helicopter, adapted from the proxyflyer.
Any newbie can fly this thing.
Due to its unique design, it self stabilize in air.
So you can say that it Wants to hover all day.
It will not drift at all as long as its in still air.
They are only 50grams and rotor turn at low speed.
Also it tends to stay in a hover and can't do fast forward flight
So its very safe for kids.
A great way to start in this hobby.
Only thing that limits this to "toy" instead of "hobby" level helicopter is the fact that their is no left and right(aileron) control and that it can't move around fast(not meant to anyway, its meant to HOVER).
It has 3 channels. throttle, elevator, rudder.
aileron is not really needed anyway since it will remain stable in air, no need to keep correcting it.
I just had fun pirorette it like crazy in the kitchen. A very small kitchen by the way. No skill needed. Just go apply full rudder and it rotate like crazy but remain in the same spot in air. What a blast.
I've never been able to do the same thing with my hummingbird in the kitchen, I would crash for sure due to the limited space.
btw, visit rcgroups.com to get more info.
Anyways, get it and see for yourself. its just amazing.
Your kids will sure love it. |
