Voyager 50 on the way!(I've got it ! I'm in love)

I Like It , I Like it! I have one gal. run through this heli and it keeps getting better. The OS50 has lots of power even on 10% nitro,no bogging. It rolls very axial, with no fuss. Just push the cyclick and over she goes!A little neitive and it's on to the next move. The biggest thing I notice is how it goes through turns, solid. It holds it's course and will not skidd out of the turn. Also it settles down from one flight path into the next smoothly. It loops like a 60, big or small just tracks stright through. I Wove it.
I think the 600mm blades are too small. If anyone has a sugesstion on some 640 woodies, mabie a pair of cut down 60 size you have tried let me know. The fuel tank is small for the 50 too. Has anyone found one bigger that will fit ?Please let me know.

Michael

Voyager 50 fuel tank

Thanks Iangen! I will order some SAB's , sounds like you have tried a set and like them. It is nice to know about the fuel tank also.
Your picture of the inverted Vigor is great too.Nice flying.

SAB 640

I have been running the SAB 640 on a FURY 50 Expert all summer (and fall) long. They are great. The OS 50 can pull +10 to -10 with these 167 gram blades. Yes the cyclic rate is slower than the SAB 600's we ran for 2 weeks with this heli but the 640 make it auto almost like a 60. Highly Recomended

Iangen did you have trouble getting the Vigor body on your Ergo 46?

That canopy is a JR Phoenix GF canopy which originaly is for the Voyager/Voyager IMZ

I have flown several Voyagers and all I can say is that they fly good. I tried one with TG 600 semisymm blades it was as faster (ofcourse) and almost as nimble as my Ergo (which is setup for 3d) while the Voyager with Sabs 640´s on it was more like a FAI setup and was damn fast.. felt really "smooth" in the air.. tracked like it was on rails Overall they compare pretty good since its the same rotorhead on both.. along with many other parts..

Voyager 50 in the US

Just FYI,
I see that Horizon is now listing the Voyager 50, but not in stock. The picture shows the glass canopy rather than the bleach bottle plastic. I wonder what else may be different for the US spec version?

JR R-22

Michael,

To confess, the r-22 is not finished yet. I've had the project for over a year, but a wise friend convinced me to put more fuel through my Raptor before moving to the scale ship. 20 gallons and several crash kits later, I see his point .

My r-22 is actually a parts box deal: An Ergo 46 CCPM kit( US spec), a long boom conversion kit, and the JR r-22 conversion kit I got through cyberheli. It would not normally make sense to do it this way, but I got a very sweet deal on the basic Ergo kit, partially assembled.
All the parts look good and I would expect it to fly like a slightly heavy Ergo. I'll post a report when it flys later this month ( hopefully).

By the way, I also have a JR Voyager dual kit not started, did you get english instructions with yours?

bxc53 voyager conversion

bxc53 I bought my Voyager on RC-Online, it was new but I did not get the instructions. They should be on the way. Untill JR sells the V in the US I am without. Do you have a way to send me a copy of yours?

I would like to add the R22 body to my Voyager, do you know if it will fit? Thanks Michael

Voyager instructions

Michael,

Sorry, I was asking because my instructions are in Japanese
I know the Voyager is sold in England with English instructions, so they exist, but I will probably just go for it using the drawings.

Can't say for sure if the R-22 body will fit the Voyager, the kit is actually for the Ergo 46 type 2 not sold in the US. It mounts using the studs and grommets similar to the standard canopy, so if you were willing to tinker with relocating the studs, it should be feasible.

FYI, The body kit part no. is JR82167
I'd be interested to know if you do try it!
