e-Lite Machines Corona > Converting LMH to electric?

Is there a conversion kit? Or do I just stick a motor and speed control on it. This is my nephew's heli and he has lots of problems keeping the Vmax running right. So I'm thinking of converting it and giving that a shot.

Here is how one guy did it;

Lite Machines said at Toledo there would be a conversion kit to change a glo to a Corona(new wood, longer blades&boom,etc.).

yes there is an e-conversion kit for the 110. Try litemachines.com or greathobbies.com sells them.

Good Luck

Hello

Here is are pictures of my ELMH; it is highly modified with a CF crutch. I also have very good electronics in it.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...88&pagenumber=1

I use it to practice nose in hovering, and backwards flight. I have nose in down to an art with this thing and the skill transfers directly to bigger better helis. IMHO it is better than a sim. You can also practice inverted hovering with it, just reverse the rudder and elevator channel. You will be flying right side up, but it will be like you were upside down.

I suggest you go to www.litemachines.com and purchase an LMH Corona crutch. Then transfer the mechanics and you are done, You may also want to pick up some z links for the rotor head and the conversion so that the heli can use an electronic gyro. Make it easy on your nephew and get him a Futaba GY240 gyro. He will love you for it

Carlo
PS: Do a search on the Ezone for the LMH Corona, and the ELMH; I guarentee you will find loads of info.

Thanks for all the quick replys. Getting a Corona crutch is a good idea. And I did put a Helimax mini piezo on it and that lasted about 3 hours and failed. I sent it in for repair and they replaced it and that one lasted about 3 months and it died. He has been flying this LMH with no gyro and he's really good at it. He's only 13 and doing great. But that engine is giving lots of trouble. Sometimes it works great others it wont. I got an old Concept 30 from somebody here that I will fix up for him eventually and I will take the LMH and convert it to electric and keep it for myself.

I have converted 4 LMH's, personally I like the stock crutch, because I move all the servo's to a new location for a more direct link. I move the tail rotor to the boom, and the ail, and elv to the apropriate side of the cross member on the frame. and use the kyosho atomic force 17 double turn motor, with either castle creations pegasus 35 esc or jeti 35. I like the 8 cells but 7 works but on 8 it screams. and either a 12 or 13t pinion gear. I have used mounts from both Al. and plastic, prefer Al, if you have a piece just bend to a L shape and cut to fit, bolt motor into a direct replacement of the norvel but on oppesite side, strap batteries on to left side nose ( i used velcro straps) battery will run down entire frame rail. and reciever and gyro on rt side, I found this setup will give perfect balance, and will perform better than norval, with 5-6 minute flights on 1700 scr cells, I may have pics if interested.
