Since new this machine has always had a tendency to wobble the canopy and occasionally shake the tail (lowish frequency) at headspeeds under 1800. I put this down to engine tuning and can improve it slightly by further leaning of the motor (OS50 and zimmerman tuned pipe and header). However this overleans the engine which then loses power and overheats.

I've checked every shaft and bearing but just can't figure out why it does this. Is this a feature of the Conquest or should I keep looking?

I've manufactured an aluminium boom clamp, checked all bolt tightness, blades, paddles and flybar length etc. I have several other machines includng a Futura SE which are all super smooth. As it stands I hardly use it any more so any help would be appreciated.

You'll want to keep looking. I have a Conquest with OS 50 an a muscle pipe, it's just about the smoothest heli I've ever flown. I have a SS Futura that has the same problem you describe, I think I've got it narrowed down to a paddle problem.
Good luck in your quest,
Alan

Make sure the spacers the grips bolt to in the head are installed correctly... they aren't symetrical! They are only 1.5mm different but that can set up a low frequency shake! Look for a line around each spacer... Chris
