speak for yourself... i had forgotten about this heli already if it would have not been for this thread...

about the avant... that is one expensive heli... you have to buy a xpsec for $850.- and then buy the parts to convert it... probably $400.- or so... mmmmhh

Last year I scratchbuilt a helicopter that uses a lot of off-the-shelf parts. I don't have the talent or experience that these guys do, but it took me 3 months from design to finished product, and another several months to get it worked out to where I am satisfied with it. If I were going to produce it for sale, I cannot even begin to imagine how long it would take or the hurdles I would have to overcome.

I have tremendous respect for anyone who brings a kit to market, especially a start-up company. I look forward to seeing this product whenever it becomes available- it can only make a great hobby even better!

why would you possibly buy the Xspec
only to get the Avant?

You dont use 90%+ of the Xspec changes
vs. the $479 stock Freya.

Stock kit, fan shroud, maybe the metal
head block if you insist and probably
some spacers and small parts.

Personallly, I'm just waiting for all the
lemmings so that I can get the carbon
lowers from converted kits

As a total wild @ss guess, I'm thinking
the conversion is going to be around
500-600 since there is alll that CF
(CX framesets are usuallly $200)
and then add the pretty metal pieces
(CCPM arms, swash & engine mount
& other metal doodads)
and damper kit

You are incorrect.
The Avant can be built with a regular $470 Freya. The only thing you need is the X-Spec fan shroud. Other than that you can use a plastic freya to make an Avant.

On the other hand if you already have a Freya it becomes a very inexpensive way to get a new generation 3D heli.

And the most important factor is that with the way it flies your fun factor in multiplied many times over

Augusto.
