| Yes, I chose my words poorly when I spoke of Mr. Mathewson working outside of hobby interest......doah!
Yes, I understand that AMA's sole purpose is to represent the interests of it's members.
It has been said before, "The simular appearence of the hobby and industrial alone can lead the gov. to group the two platforms." The line between them blurs when the hobby platform is used for commercial purposes, requiring insurance outside of the AMA.
Will Mr. Mathewson assist in defining and distinguishing between, hobby, commercial RPV's and UAV's, without fearmongering, to help avoid blanket regulations.
As has been stated before, "We are dealing with three different creatures which all look the same to John Q Public at 20 or 30 ft. and none of the interests need to be goverened by regulations written for the other."
I understand that Helicam.org would not come into existance if the AMA was able to take commercial interests into account. Efforts exerted by Helicam.org members are well founded due to blanket regulations in other countries which have blunted commercial operations using hobby platforms. Hold your banner high so it cannot be dismissed.
I posted earlier with ignorant excitment. For a moment I saw a thread which binds these interests together. Retrospect brings back the fact that the parties envolved do not want and cannot afford the liablity for the actions of the other.
I am gaining confidence that the shared experiences of the hobbiest, commercial RPV's, and emerging UAV's will continue to help guide all efforts.
It is a truly exciting time in which we live.
