VGA output? Wouldn't you need composite video out to be useful to heli flying so you can downlink the images to the ground.?

Or some method to fly an image storage device of some type? Laptops are quite heavy these days!

Ughhh!

That was supposed to an RCA output not VGA. It has a small card with no enclosure sticking right out of the back of the camera. It has a positive and negative connection for power and a pos video and the video ground.

The video is pretty amazing with that camera. And it is smaller than most standard CCD cameras on the market.

HI helicool and John,

When you use IR cameras for inspection work do you need them to be in colour and is the camera that you are talking about colour.

As I am wanting to use a IR camera for inspecting Power lines aswell as transmition and load centers. I think they need to be in colour to indicate where there are faulty conections and excessive loads.
If you are able to share any information it will be appreciated.

Cheers Kimberley Attwell

Thermal cameras are greyscale

They have color added by software and the interface being used.
It is extremely easy to tell minor temp differences in objects.
