Also, I have to agree will furyfler to an extent....a fellow club member was visited by the FBI because someone was hacking his PC for unlawful internet use. It is not a common problem that everyone should be paranoid about, but neither is getting hit by an R/C aircraft....it is just something that precautions need to be taken. I use a cable router not for the firewall, but for multiple PC's (teenagers and their homework/chat time.....sheesh!)...the natural firewall is just one of the perks.

If this does not work then there is another alternative (pull the plug).

Mark, you know me and you know I seldom complain and I'm probably one of the most positive minded person anyone can meet but you also know that I say it the way I see it and I just about had it with this threats. I think this is the one before I say enough is enough.

If I hear you threatening us with pulling the plug just one more time I will pull the plug myself and leave this forum and never come back for any reason.

I'm sick and tired of having this threat thrown at me especially when the reason and the solution to the problems is not within our power. If you want to pull the plug don't even talk about it and just do it otherwise keep a lid on it.

I'm going to tell you one thing about websites and I hope you better listen.
Websites success are due to the CONTENT not the technology or the owner of the any of that crap. If enough good content contributors leave this or ANY website the website dies period!

I am a major content contributor to this website and I feel offended every time I read you threatening to pull the plug. ME AND OTHERS LIKE ME ARE THE REASON WHY THIS WEBSITE IS SUCCESFUL don't fool yourself believing that it is the software or anything else. Granted a nice interface makes it nice and easy to use but it's just accessory to the main attraction which is CONTENT. So don't make the mistake of believing this website is immortal. Remember what happened to RCO when he pissed enough contributors.

As a matter of fact I believe you should think about this and probably apologize for threatening to punish the rest of us that have no control over the problem. I understand you might get upset and say things like that in a fit of rage but that's no excuse to keep threatening the rest of us over and over.

A pissed Augusto.

This is getting out of hand (“pull the plug”) and being taken out of context. I am sorry for the repeated threat but the point I was trying to make is that if this place turns into a swamp of trolls and bozo’s then I want nothing to do with it. I was being threatened with class action lawsuits and I just pounced back with the (not to be repeated) threat.

I appreciate all the feed back from everyone that this topic has generated and I have a feeling that the problems being addressed are already taking care of them selves.

I guess what you meant was:

If you would listen, about mods and having others helping you this would have never come up or happened.

In your case there is a perception that you're here mostly to draw people to RCU. I would understand his reluctance to listen to your advice. You have sided with what he perceives to be a rival website and with a person that Mark has some issues with. You have also dissed this website at RCU, which being a moderator, reflects bad on that website's other moderators so I don't see why it seems strange to you that he won't listen to your advice.

Augusto.

I personally read the posts where he was dissing RunRyder before they were edited so no need to find proof because I read them myself.

Mark's choice of not have other moderators is as valid as a choice to have them. I for instance don't like RCU because of the moderators.

Let’s not beat this to death (please do not respond). I know that you two think that I am a crappy moderator but I have my reasons for what I do. Please, lets just talk about RC helicopters and if you do not like this forum or the way it is run then please see the door.

RonC "what do you think". Well since you asked I'll tell you. I think that it is interesting that you have had several different user names, here as well as on RCU. In a post on RCU asking you why you changed your name AGAIN, you replied "that was the name I always wanted and I had the chance to change it so I did". I believe the reasons are to avoid being banned for all of the insulting name calling and poor judgment in your replies to many people. Some how you think you can insult everyone and just reregister and all will be forgotten. To have the position of moderator IMO has resposibilities; including to be fair, unbiased and to keep your personal opinions to yourself........being a moderator doesn't give you the right to say and do as you please, it would appear that you have used this postion of "power" not to better the hobby, but, more to take shots whenever you like.
Sorry, it shouldn't and doesn't work that way. You asked, now you know, maybe you could provide an explanation for the multipule user names. I'm open; maybe there is something I'm missing????

I forget which forum it was but I remember every time you posted a message your IP was automatically attatched to it at the bottom of the page. Didn't seem to make a difference on pilots posting. Most use a firewall I would hope if they have DSL or Cable modems.

I don't say a lot either Jerry unless someone sets me off. Even though I don't agree with your approach, some though must feel that certain members may ruin a good experience for others. I feel if you don't like what you’re looking at change the channel. But that's not always the easiest thing to do. Drawing attention to the Richard Heads that undauntedly plague forums is not the answer. They enjoy the hype and the attention; they obviously have a poor outlook on life. I enjoy the positive contributions made to forums and have learned some useful knowledge. I hope this gets worked out and we all can get back to flying and relating our experiences.
