Well I guess I now have to ask this question,Is there a life to the bolt that holds the blades on,should you replace it so often,or does it last forever,or did all of the above problems happen because the bolt or nut backed off so is it a lack of maintenance.

Hay Jagboy,

First, may I sugest not mixing Red Bull and coffee befor you reply to my poast in the future.

For the record, I walked out to where he was flying and new what he was going to do which was bring it down the centerline so no need for a floging.

The point I was trying to make was how it opened my eyes about how much cenetic energy these things have.

Will

You never mentioned that you went out to where he was flying, or knew he was going to do a very high speed fly-by close to you. I would be pissed off if someone did that to me without giving me a warning that he was going to do it, and ample time to get away from the zone he would be doing it in.
On the other hand, if I knew it was going to be happening, and that it was so close it could hit someone ( like me me me) at that speed, all I can say is that I suggest maybe you need to stop mixing the Red Bull and Coffee before You go to the field

Well it wernt the bolts,it be the blade rippin thru the bolt(leavin that much behind) and shootin off like a bullet!
Yes as far as the bolts are concerned use original ones supplied cuz you could end up with some bolts bought at the hardware store which do not have the proper tempering or material to start with. Its mostly a common sense affair.Make sure the blade root is pretty strong. You could dtrengthen it with some cyano if you like.Damaged rotors which have taken a hit could be potential cause of worry.Best to keep your distance from the machine at all times. One never knows even a new blade could be thrown. It is a rarity though....
