| I grease my bearings all the time, and I don't use the greaser, or take the shields off. All you need is a shaft that the bearing will fit on. The shaft just acts as a blocker for the grease. Slide the bearing on the shaft so it is flush with the end. Hold the shaft in your left hand, supporting the bearing with your thumb and forefinger. Now put a little dab of grease on the forefinger of your right hand, and just kinda press it/work it into the bearing. Add grease as needed. It takes very little time before the old dirty grease will start oozing out of the opposite side of the bearing. When the grease starts coming out clean, you are done. Main bearings in their blocks are even easier. You still use the shaft as a blocker, just position the bearing block so that you are working the grease in from the side that has the bearing indented. Fill this whole indent area with grease, then just press on it with your thumb. Your thumb will conform to the indent, forcing a lot of grease right through. In this situation, you can slide the bearing half off of the shaft, and fill this area with grease too. With your thumb pressing on the indent, when you slide the shaft into the bearing, it will force that grease through the bearing too.
