e-Lite Machines Corona > LMH110 + this toy fuselage?

I have found a few fuselages that really are just toy helicopters. Well, they look small, and judging by the shipping box size, i think they might fit the lmh110 micro helicopter. If it crashes, the fuselage is only a new 50 bux maximum, all painted, and the heli has proven durability. What do you all think?

Here is the link:

Technically, parts of the plastic inside the fuselage can be cut out to help the fit.
What do you think?

Not sure it will work.

This is the Ultimate soldier AH6- Little bird next to my raptor. Its a big model. I plan to put a hawk with a bigger motor and wide chord blades in it. The action figure inside is 12" tall. They are just about perfect for a powerful 30 size machine though.

Hi~ Mopzilla

I've been looking for the exact same toy heli you are looking at and what Rich has in his picture for 2 days now. I read a thread here (by Rich) on RunRyder (click here ) about this toy heli, and thought it was interesting. I went ahead and tried to look for different prices and stores. Here are the links:

Manufacturer

Manufacturer's link to the heli you are looking at

Manufacturer's link to the heli that Rich and Fritz have

These heli's are 1/6 scale helis, so the one you are looking at is big as the one in Rich's picture. Fritz has nice webpage with information on how to turn this toy to an actual RC heli fuselage.(click here ) So those two are different helicopters. My local ToysRUs had two AH-6 Little Bird Helicopter left. I wanted one, thinking it was $ 39.99. Turned out, the $ 39.99 is the one in your link, and those two left were $ 79.99 each . But they did have a 12" figure included in the box.
If you still want them, I found 2 websites where they sell AH-6 Little Bird Helicopter for about $ 59.99 and $ 62.99 each. But they are out of stock. So far, most of the stores I checked with good prices are out of stock. Anyhow here are the links to those two websites with good prices:

$ 62.99

$ 59.99

Best regards,

Alex

Thats where I got mine.

ToysRUs. and it was $80. But, I figured what the heck! You only live once. Plus the detail on this thing is amazing! Good luck with finding the other one though.
BTW: I get my hawk tomorrow and will probably start the frankencopter conversion.

they also used to have a blue police helicopter, and a red/white rescue heli, but i guess they stopped producing it. In that case, any ideas on what might fit WELL on an LMH110? I think if I lighten this one enough it will be good enough for an LMH.

Would it fit in a shuttle ZXX?

Police and Rescue

They have the Police and Rescue helis in Canada at Toys R Us. I just bought the rescue one (really nice) and it was $49.99 Cdn. (That's like $30.00 US) . I'm going to put my Raptor 50 in it. I'll probably get another heli for it soon so I can keep my Raptor 50 for 3d stuff, and have the scale one too.

I built up a little bird using that fuse and a Kalt Baron with a .35 in it. It needs more power. The body is heavy. It flew okay, it was just underpowered and very sluggish to respond. If you build one up, and plan to deck it out in detail, put a bigger motor in it from the start.

Thanks, John Cadwell

I dont think I will add the guns and missles

The weapons on the thing are pretty heavy. I was going to try and find a little bigger motor for it. An MDS or TT in 40-50 size would work good I think. Plus they are cheap.

There have been several threads about this. Here are some pictures of a conversion using a shuttle. It needs a 50 engine. It's too heavy for a 32.

JCaldwell's gallery has a few pictures of two he did

Awesome! thanks a lot guys!

Do you think the huey by 21st century toys will fit nicely on an LMH? Yes, i realize it has a bend in the tail, but that can be edited a bit....

I am wanting to buy a AH-6A.
I seen it at a local toys-r-us tonight.. I am wanting to
know how your guys conversions have been going. I was
thinking about a venture cp 30 for the mechs.. Would they work??
Does anyone know? Also could I put a OS 50 In those mechs
and what would I need to do If I did? Like gearing etc?

Thanks for the help!!!

That AH-6A for $80.00 Is one heck of a good looking chopper!

Until next time.... Keep them rotors outta the dirt....

The Venture 30 does not come with a 50 conversion kit. Search for a post, because I know somebody posted a detailed ventury conversion. Your best bet would be to convert a Raptor, Hawk, or Sceadu to the 50 kit, and throw that in there. I would go with the Raptor, mostly just for the cost. For 280 you get the mechanics... Truth be told, if you want to build a scaler, the Toys R Us fuselage is a brick. VERY heavy. I would take a look at the century Funkey fuselages as a better starting point. Lighter, and higher quality. By the time you gut the Ultimate Soldier Canopy (or America's Finest) you have a lot of time and effort into a toy that isn't really up to snuff. I think you would be much happier with a Century ARF scaler, or century kit. You get what you pay for. Just my thoughts...

Thanks, John Cadwell

I have seen these done myself. And yes a 50 will fit. If you take into consideration that most 50's are just upgraded 30's. With the exception of the Fury. But I will say that the ones I saw were not suited very well for the Raptor. The Hawks and shuttles fit the best. Dont know about the Venture or Sceadue. Oh and just in case you are wondering? The falcon 50 is an upgraded Hawk 30. So it to will fit. I would think that a Raven 50CCPM would fit the bill nicely. But that is a lot of chopper to stuff in a toy. Hope that helps some.

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

I used Kalt Baron mechanics in mine. The toy fuse has very flimsy landing gear, which didn't support the weight of the copter. Also, to use the stock tailboom, and not have the tail sticking waaaay out the end, the main blades need to be in the 500mm range. Not very big... It won't look scale with longer blades, unless you make a different tail section. The whole deal is just heavy. The plastic is thick and cheap. It flew like a pig on Enya 35. It just didn't cut it. If you REALLY want to do this, get a big engine (maybe an OS46 in Hawk IV mechanics) and go at it. My suggestion, though not fun to hear, is to look at the hughes, jet ranger, jet stream, or long ranger.

For not much more money, you get something designed, and proven.

Question for ColeopTer

What's with the hard drive? One of your pics has a PC hard drive mounted inside the fuselage. What gives? Or am I seeing things?

Bimmer,

You'll have to ask JCaldwell.
It's his heli not mine. I just posted the pictures from his website.

John, or anyone.

Does the fuel hurt the plastic chopper or paint???

And if so what did you do to protect the finish of the toy?
