You know that the controller has a govoner built into it right? Why add the GV1? Its just going to throw the controller way off unless you are not using a heli controller(I assume that you are using the Ions controller that came with it.

Also, you have all the pieces there, have you flown it yet?

Yep, but from past experience with brushless controllers in "heli" mode and everything I've read about this one, the built in govenor doen't work that great.

Some guys have reported great success using external govenors - I'd like to try one after putting some time on the machine. I don't like taking things apart so the sensor was installed for "future use". Currently using 40% cyclic & rudder to throttle mix to hold headspeed - seems to work pretty well.

I've only had time for 2 flights (weather, schedule and other crap) - she flew GREAT - hope to put some serious time on it this weekend.

You're welcome.

It's a revolution whip antenna - I've used them on my last dozen or so helis with no problems to date. It replaces the Rx's stock wire antenna which is cut down to 4", fitted with a connector and plugged into this one. It's mounted in an already existing hole in the frames. I can add some more pictures showing exactly how it's mounted if you'd like.

If you've ever built a Fury (any Fury) you'll enjoy this build. If you haven't it will still be fun, but pay close attention to the assembly of the t/r gearbox.

Enjoy it I did

Boboo.
Question. I saw the pictures, but I think you have several upgrades. I am waiting for mine, but I do not think to see so many metal parts. Also Is the tail Pitch an upgrade? Or the kit came the way you are showing in this pictures.

The washout hub, arms and anti-rotation guide are upgrades - not because the standard parts don't cut it, but because they look nice.

The machine is actually a little easier to work on with the stock plastic anti-rotation guide 'cause you can bend it out of the way to remove the swash without undoing any screws.

I find that the plastic washout hub gets kind of sloppy after 200 or so flights (at least they do on the nitro machines). The metal arms... well they look real nice (BLING).

The FAI t/r pitch slider is also an upgrade - as with the other stuff, 'cause it looks nice. There's actually more throw available with the stock part - gy601 limits 135% both sides stock vs. 116% with the FAI slider, but the FAI slider is... BLING.

Now the Tempest 3D head is another matter - it suits my flying style better than the Extreme head, but I want to have some fun before installing it and getting down to business.

bob00:
I installed a whip ant on my extreme and almost lost it cuz I didnt do a range check and it had cut my range in half... I was very lucky in that,,,, I got control back 5ft from the ground inverted and it just stopped there ..I was able to recover it with no damage..Just a load in my pants... I had used whips befor and never had a problem with them...I have since given up on them and only run full length ant's.... It looks really sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! Im going to get my Ion as soon as Im done with this post...... Wade is paintting my canopy so I hope to show mine soon....hehehe...But Im sure its not gonna be as sweet as your with all the upgrades and BLING.... Nice Job Man!!!!!

Hey DeeDee,

The paint work was by J.K. Painting (Jeff Key - jeff@wrkey.com) - he does everybody's canopies around here, more than a dozen for me and they've all come out great.
