Ya'll give me some feed back on a demo I just did to promote my business, if you don't mind.
17.3 megs
Can make smaller if needed (don't want to sacrifice quality to much)
Requires Real One
Thanks,
Brett Horton

Brett, for what it is worth here is my opinion; I like all the subject matter in the video but at 2:50 it is too long for a demo, especially if is to be viewed on the internet. People will only watch the first minute then loose interest. You can shorten the view and keep all content by making the film faster paced. Try putting your stills together and a 1/2 second stay on each. I know that sounds short but watch your next TV commercial and see how short it is on each shot.

The aerial video is good and without vibration but you should look at running it through Dynapel stabilization software. They have a free trial download at dynapel.com.

Pinnacle systems just came out with Studio 9 and it has a new feature that will make a video for you. You pick your music put in your clips and it will make you a really neat segment.

One question: Who is your target audience... The Internet, demo CD?

Hope that helps

I think it's pretty cool

I don't want to start anything here but I kinda disagree with prather about making it faster paced. I say this because EVERYBODY making short productions thinks it has to be fast paced. It is so overdone these days. Have you ever watched a music video and wished that just once they would actually let you watch some good dancers do a complete dance instead of showing a split second move from a hundred different dancers? It drives me nuts. Maybe I'm alone in this view ?

I suspect that the purpose of the demo is to generate some interest in what the helicam can do, a teaser to get people to ask more questions about it. I think this demo will effectively do that.

The only suggestion I have is to throw in a piece that shows the downlink (groundstation view) in action. Something that suggests what the cameraman is doing. It's one of the things people don't "get" right away.

... just another opinion

Hi Brett,

I really enjoyed the demo.
Nice work.
How do you get a hold of background music? Is there
any royalty costs to incur if you are using the video for a
commercial application?

Cheers,
Jeff

This a little off topic but I just saw "Step into Liquid" last night.
It has some great aerial surfing sequences shot from a full scale H500.

Good, clean entertainment when the sun goes down.

Great video!
One comment though. the footage of the freeway shots that is scattered throughout the clip is out of order in my mind. I like the idea of using these shots in a non-continuous way, but I think if you use them in sequence (setup, spool up, take-off and then the aerial shot), it makes more sense.
