I just aquired a HawkII for a good price and figured why not put it in the model Ive had for a while. What motor would you suggest if I use the stock 550s? OS32, 46, 50? Also, if it needs a bigger motor what gear ratio should I use? Can I even change the gear ratio on a hawk? Here is a pic of the model. Thanks again.

Heeeey, I know that fuse. :-)
I put one in a Raptor just for fun. The Hawk is a much better fit. Just a little woodwork and it drops right in. The front servo structure leaves minimal room for a cockpit. If you have to have one, get the Century CCPM conversion which MAY work.
The OS32 will work unless you're in Denver and it's a 100+ deg. Use a 46 size muffler like the Century 3033A to help out because of the exhaust line running out of the fuse. The OS50 will give more power but sucks fuel so you'll need a bigger tank. I also suggest wide cord semi blades since 550mm is about as long as you can fit. No gear change is necessary.
A note, the black fuse has a dull coat paint sprayed on it which is not fuelproof. On the upside, once the dull starts flaking it looks weatherbeaten like the real heli.
My AH-6 is still buried on my website.

Thanks

Im on Long Island probably no more than a couple feet off sea level. I was going to try and find a used 46 or 50 for it. Or use the OS 32 out of my raptor and upgrade it to a 50. Ive always wanted one of these and dog gone it, Im going to have one. How does yours fly? Is it a pig? I would think that a 50 size motor in that size bird would still move out pretty good. Just like to verify since I am still a "newbie" to this hobby. Only been flying since Jan. The wide chord blades should be semis correct? The whole scale thing just gets me going when I see one fly. Especially a MD500 or a Dauphin. I used to love to sit on Tampa Bay at lunch and watch the Coast Guard do their stuff when I lived down there. Thanks Again.

As for dull coat. You can use baby powder mixed into the clear coat. Experiment with it. It doesn't take much. It works great. And you can have a fuel proof paint job.
