| I was checking my settings this evening and found my governor having a constant reading of 97%. I cranked the engine and the fan without any change, then unplugged the sensor and the reading went back to zero.
I then took heli #2 and connected its sensor to the electronic of #1 which gave good readings. The sensor #1 on electronics #2 is also reading 97%.
I therefore have a bad sensor (less than 10 flights on it). I opened the sensor box and to my surprise, there's a bunch of surface mount components in there!! Looks like everything is OK, the cable as well, can't find anything mechanically broken. I'll get down to what went wrong at work on Monday (they have a $5000 electronic magnifier for SMT).
OK, now what.... Oh yeah, I read somewhere about someone having made an optical sensor...quick search.... there it is.....Great forum, thanks guys!!
