Russ is here from England on behalf of Model Helicopter World Magazine.
Russ writes the Close Encounters column and this is one of the models that has been reviewed in M.H.W.
The model is extremely radical and makes use of many new features.
Most noticeable is the sliding flybar collective pitch mechanism which removes the need for a washout assembly.
The model uses an O.S. 91 FX engine, fitted with a lotterle slide carb and Hatori 700 tuned pipe.
The benefit of this engine system is that the model runs zero nitro fuel with just 12 % oil.
It can also be flown from a very low r.p.m of 1300 for lazy 3-D, up to 1900 r.p.m for really extreme 3-D.
The model is being flown with NHP Razor Pro 710 mm blades, 95 mm tail blades and a CSM 540 gyro.
The performance of the model is quite stunning over a wide speed range and it runs incredibly quiet.
