| other ham stuffI bought an IC-T81A, thinking I'd use it for both ham stuff and as an RC scanner. But, it turns out that the newer T81A cannot be set to receive our 72mhz band likes the old ones can. If anyone is thinking of buying a T81A with this purpose in mind, don't.  It's a nice handheld though, so I'm keeping it anyhow.
But... I have read that if you program an older IC-T81A to receive 'extended' frequencies, you can load that file into a newer T81A. If anyone has an older T81A that has RC frequencies programmed into it, please contact me, I'd like to try to turn mine into an RC scanner as well.
