FY-240 gyro, JGF 400DH motor, TP Gen 3 2100 mAh LiPO, HS-56's and 55's, some Align upgrades. I really have learned a lot flying this heli. I switched to thumb and forefinger this spring (2005) and practiced hard at precisely controling it in hover and slow flight. It's really increased my confidence to start doing aerobatic maneuvers.

Zoom/Shogun Collective Servo Mount

I've never liked where the collective servo mounted and the poor geometry between the servo and the pitch lever. I'm finishing up a Zoom and thought of a better approach. I created a mount on the same side of the frame as the tail pitch servo that lines everything up beautifully. The mount is made of .032" carbon plate and keeps the right side of the frame clear for mounting the ESC or gyro. The template is in my gallery in the "files" section.. Here are the pictures.

Aqua-Zoom 2004

Cheap styrofoam from an arts and crafts store, a rasp, some scavenged wooden dowels and some cable ties made a float equipped Shogun. Since I don't have a big pool like some people I appropriated the grandkids wading pools.

Shogun 2004

My first collective pitch helicopter. Loads of fun but I hate the tail gears! I broke the heli a lot of times due to my own mistakes but even more times due to tail drive problems.

My son works on MH-53's in Norfolk for the Navy so they have a special place in my heart.
